Think of it as selecting a salvage site.
I believe that is because we never achieve the 100% salvage that keeps the ship listed.
Anyway, you shall just ignore and move on to another ship.

Just a pick a new ship. It will ask you if youre sure you want to abandon the old one, but if theres nothing else you want to salvage on it its fine.
You're probably at the part where you have to do the training mission that teaches you how to use tethers. They could definitely make it more clear that you're required to do it because I had the same "I don't want to do a training mission I want to do a real mission" mentality at that point.
