Emergency Lights: Salvage or not?
Want to hear some thoughts on other's opinions on the small round lights that come on with the main power supplier becomes disconnected from them i.e. hull separation or removal of power cell/generator.

After a week of playing, I find them not worth as much as the time investment put into them. Their longer counterparts that are on when connected to power I do see as worth the investment of retrieval.

What say you fellow breakers?

I did in the beginning, not once I got to medium difficulty ships. Same with long lights. If the ship is almost gone and there happens to be a light free floating in front of me I'll grab it and fire it into the barge, but that's it.

It's some extra pocketchange ($,1067 per dome), but aren't worth it compared to the time and worth of other objects. The strips are even worse with their variable values.

I never salvage any lights anymore. They're quite literally not worth the time. Also, they take up slots on the barge, which is a very valuable commodity come medium ships.

I don't go looking for 'em but will salvage if easily barged.

I think the most valuable commodity is time, to that end I rarely grab small stuff. Atomo panels and computer systems are about it. generally i cut some floors out and throw stuff towards the barge hastily, then when going to to buy tethers i do cleanup while coasting there. If all the little stuff pushes you into another shift, thats 400k in costs right there. Thats like 20 long storage bins, plus lost gains from snagging a 3 mil class 2 reactor on a new ship.

I allow 2 shifts per ship. If the processors are clogged, ill kill time by grabbing little stuff out for the barge, but in general, no I dont take lights :)

Edit: hell, unless airlocks are on the work order I dont even bother, just chop em in half so the panels go easier.

Never. I'd better send that carcass full of lightbulbs into forge all at once.

Its all money in my pocket. Once you buy all of your equipment the rent goes way down so they are worth it then.

i have done some messing about with those lights and for the hasle to remove they are not worth it since they seem to rance from 20 $ to 1100$
there are other things like the small lights on the panel that the power generator is on as well as the handles on most ships

since they are so small they are a pain to try to get
