So, been playing the new version for a bit.
Still don't care about the story or being forced to listen to stuff i don't care about. It gets in the way. These people are not talking TO me, they are talking AT me.
Please let me skip it. I have nothing invested in their story or suffering. I was killed on day one anyways appereantly, so big diff.

One the other hand i DO like the building of you own little side-project ship. Why? Because here i get to make a choice. I can CHOOSE to get parts for my ship OR advance my mission working on my debt. Well... earling Links tokens, because as most everybody else i soon realised the debt has absolutely no meaning whatsoever. Just numbers ticking down instead of up on your score. again. So what?

So, skipable conversations and tutorials please.
Add things to make the story more interactible and actually impact gameplay.
Most of all, more varieties of ships. That is after all what i start the game to do. At the end of the day, i just want to pick an interesting ship apart.

^^ My thoughts exactly.

Fully agreed. The story gets really in the way of the gameplay. For me breaking down ships is fun, listening to the story is not. Its also not really explainable for me why there is no simple skip option for the dialogue. I thought that would be one of the first things they do, before expanding on the more lengthy dialogue.

And the 3D Hub between missions feels also kind of redundant and pointless. Adding a larger ship variety and implementing a more streamlined interface, which gets you faster into the actual action, without having to click and skip so many pointless things in between, instead would be more appreciated.

The 3D hub is... clunky. Different squares with animated transitions.... not even a "walk-able" environment. =/ (OK, early access, maybe this will be improved on.)
But the real shame here is that this, again, slows my experience down. More button presses for nothing. More stuff to navigate before i get to A) check if my gear is in working order and B) get back out to scrap me a ship.

But say if you could build it out, or modify it more to make it "your own" it would be fun. Thinking about how i built bases in Subnautica for the fun of it. And if you needed to loot/find bits for this too from ships, cool. So take the idea of the poster and crank it up to 10. =)

I swear if I have to listen to one more "inspirational message" I'm gonna salvage the salvage bay.

Went to open shift game play lost all progress again just to avoid the hub as much as poss. Turned all voices to 0 in audio options to avoid the unappreciated story line, and any time i lose control of the game because story line takes over my comp from me i go take a hot shower to relax. Never has any game, (and i started gaming in the 80's right at the start of the then new gaming lifestyle on my 48k ram spectrum), made me want to rip out a whole heap of the game to get it back to basics as much as this story line mess has in this game. Strange and disturbingly true! Cannot say how much this section of the game bugs the hell out of me.

As far as I'm concerned it's a serious step down from both 0.4 and 0.5.

Instead of menu navigation we now have the hab. How does it work?
After a shift: I have to wait to pretend my character is waking up, interact with the monitor, I'm then given a report about my previous shift (that I already had at the end of my shift), validate and finally cancel.
When starting the game: I have to wait to pretend my character is waking up, interact with the monitor for no reason and then cancel the interaction.
In both cases that's a waste of my time.
Once done I have to either navigate through the clunky hab wasting more time or keep a button pressed (once again wasting more time) because apparently I couldn't be allowed to simply press a button to access the list of available ships.
To know what upgrades I'll unlock on my next level? Navigate the hab, wasting time.
To buy upgrades? Navigate the hab for longer and then again keep a button pressed because apparently I'm too stupid to simply press a button to confirm.

In 0.4 and 0.5 we had one single ship that was a pain in the ass: the Gecko Salvager. It wasn't the hardest, it was simply the worst because we had to spend an absurd amount of time moving clutter into an airlock. Most people simply ignored it because it isn't fun. Now every single ship is filled with clutter floating absolutely everywhere.

At every turn 0.6 is wasting my time instead of letting me play the game.

Okey this made me laugh, but it IS kind of true.

Also, i'm finding in funny that the devs managed to make such a good core gameplay-loop that people (myself included) are actively angry they have to suffer thru story to get to it.

I don't even mind the voice actors themselves, they do a pretty good job all in all, it's just that i would rather be playing the actual game. XD

I mean i dont mind the story that much, im not activly following it too, when they start to talk i usually just jump out off the airlock and let them talk.
What annoys me the most however are the tutorials, let me skip them.
I've done them already multiple times, i really dont want to do them again.

I wonder what that thing would be worth.

While I do actually enjoy the story, being forced to hear it when you play the game for the third time is kinda ... boring.

And yes, I'm quite sure the "inspirational messages" are meant to be annoying as all hell. But at least please let us do something while they drone on in the background, just like we do in real life when we work for companies that have that kind of spiel...
