And the 3D Hub between missions feels also kind of redundant and pointless. Adding a larger ship variety and implementing a more streamlined interface, which gets you faster into the actual action, without having to click and skip so many pointless things in between, instead would be more appreciated.
But the real shame here is that this, again, slows my experience down. More button presses for nothing. More stuff to navigate before i get to A) check if my gear is in working order and B) get back out to scrap me a ship.
But say if you could build it out, or modify it more to make it "your own" it would be fun. Thinking about how i built bases in Subnautica for the fun of it. And if you needed to loot/find bits for this too from ships, cool. So take the idea of the poster and crank it up to 10. =)
Instead of menu navigation we now have the hab. How does it work?
After a shift: I have to wait to pretend my character is waking up, interact with the monitor, I'm then given a report about my previous shift (that I already had at the end of my shift), validate and finally cancel.
When starting the game: I have to wait to pretend my character is waking up, interact with the monitor for no reason and then cancel the interaction.
In both cases that's a waste of my time.
Once done I have to either navigate through the clunky hab wasting more time or keep a button pressed (once again wasting more time) because apparently I couldn't be allowed to simply press a button to access the list of available ships.
To know what upgrades I'll unlock on my next level? Navigate the hab, wasting time.
To buy upgrades? Navigate the hab for longer and then again keep a button pressed because apparently I'm too stupid to simply press a button to confirm.
In 0.4 and 0.5 we had one single ship that was a pain in the ass: the Gecko Salvager. It wasn't the hardest, it was simply the worst because we had to spend an absurd amount of time moving clutter into an airlock. Most people simply ignored it because it isn't fun. Now every single ship is filled with clutter floating absolutely everywhere.
At every turn 0.6 is wasting my time instead of letting me play the game.
Okey this made me laugh, but it IS kind of true.
Also, i'm finding in funny that the devs managed to make such a good core gameplay-loop that people (myself included) are actively angry they have to suffer thru story to get to it.
I don't even mind the voice actors themselves, they do a pretty good job all in all, it's just that i would rather be playing the actual game. XD
What annoys me the most however are the tutorials, let me skip them.
I've done them already multiple times, i really dont want to do them again.
I wonder what that thing would be worth.
And yes, I'm quite sure the "inspirational messages" are meant to be annoying as all hell. But at least please let us do something while they drone on in the background, just like we do in real life when we work for companies that have that kind of spiel...
