Gecko depressurization is broken
Ok i tried everything to safely depressurize a gecko... but just depressurizing causes doors to close.
but even when i depressurize both sides, then cut out the door and then repressurize one chamber somehow there is a violent difference in pressure causing stuff to be thrown about and sometimes ♥♥♥♥ explodes because of it... There is nothing in between that could cause a pressure difference anymore!

can anyone tell me if there is any way to safely depressurize?

I don't even know when it's safe to open doors, scanner is supposed to tell me that but can't really see where.

Don't use the atmosphere device to depressurise other than in the cabin, just open doors and let the air out.

I've had similar issues as well and the only solution I could think of was to empty the smaller area of things that would go flying before "forcing" it to depressurize.

You figure removing the door between the areas would let you depressurize them at the same time.

Yes, just start with depressurization of main hall, and after that use mechanical locks to open all doors - then depresurization will be soft.
There is no way to depressure whole ship at once - each room has it's own regulator, and some of them are broken (that is btw the reason why you have this job, man).

This is what I've been doing too. Depressurise the Gecko's main chamber and then just open the doors for the rest once I'm sure I won't catch a data drive or cargo crate in the face.

The scanner's structure mode will have a little coloured square next to the name of each room inside the ship - if the square is green then that room is pressurised, if it's red then that room is depressurised.

or if you aim your cutter at a door or wall and wait a sec, it will pop up red pixelated text saying "DNGR"

but yeah I agree with the OP, you'd think removing the doors would make both rooms act as a single whole. that and I've seen rooms that don't have a pressure regulator switch pressure, like the airlock itself never has a vent in it. magic air vents anyone?

If you use the scanner, there is a small dot near the name of the room. Red stands for No Atmosphere, while green means there is atmosphere inside the room.

As for depressurising the Gecko... yeah main room then using locks to open the pressurised rooms seems to be the only way. If you dont stand in front of the door while opening it, you should not get hit by flying crates or datapads...
Yeah, there can sometime be a flying fuel barrel or freezing tank or some item smashing a comupter in front of the door... ♥♥♥♥ happens ^.^"

Actually i'm way more annoyed by triyng to grab or detach explosives items... 1 times on 5, they just instantly go flying in the wall at 800 m/h !
Grabing it by hand doesn't works (explode right in my face if it happens). Need to detach items with Thetters... Even manipulating after detaching is very dangerous because I don't know when the barrel will start to react way more than it should to the grapling tool !

What gets me is that in the smaller ship if you open the door to the cockpit cabin then depressurising the main section will depressurise the cabin. But it does not work in the geckos.
