How do you remove the Gecko reactor?
I thought I had gotten the reactor into the barge when I realized it's inside the big ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing! How do you remove it from there? I tried cutting, and I think you can guess the result!

I pulled out my first one through the lower end of the chassis it's sitting in. There was a hidden welding spot on the bottom of the reactor. After cutting that I could pull it out. It's quite heavy.

theres the welding bars that you can use the laser cutter on and destroy (precision) then take the grate off then pull the panels off from around the reactor. then pull the top then pop the reactor off

all the panel around the outside can be pulled off with grappling tool

This. No need for Laser.

If you are talking about the white side panels around the reactor - yes, you can either use the grapple or burn them away. That will also release the top and bottom reactor cap.

Open hole in floor of gekko.
Burn off the pipes on the bottom of the reactor with the pinpoint laser (best to turn things off first)
Get a clear path to the barge and tether the reactor to it.
The reactor should come out of its casing upon landing in the barge.
Use grapple to pull off aluminium panels when it's in the barge.

Ive never found a need to remove the panels or the reactor plates. I just get it down intact to the barge and get full credit. On cargo Geckos its laying down, you can use the computer, cut the pipes, remove the computer, then just guide it by the reactor plates straight out into the cargo bay and down into the barge.
On passenger Gecko's its standing up. I cut away the stuff at the bottom and just slide the whole thing on out.

Separating the reactor from the plates starts that countdown timer, I just keep it attached and never have to deal with it. If they ever start the countdown when you cut off its coolant supply we'll have to figure out something totally different. I'd take a hard mode option with that though, sounds fun and tense!

Yep you can do what they say above but i have had mor ethan 1 time where the casing was credited but not the reactor now i seperate everytime.

You can pull out the whole casing and then take it apart. If you send it to the barge and it doesn't count the reactor, you can still take the casing apart and pull the reactor out while it's in the barge and it will count it.

Reactor starts meltdown timer when it slides out of the reacor plate. Removing the plates around the reactor is totally save. As long as you don't accidently grab the reactor instead of a plate, nothing bad happens.

I always remove the plates because I'm one of those guys who want to salvage as much as possible ;)
