This game has neither great nor terrible voice acting, and could become even better from improved VA through more unique dialogue lines, but it does just fine with what it has.
Bath your ears in the glory of this:

And yes, that was a released game.
And there are quiet a few of those from that time.
Voice acting nowadays may be weaker sometimes or even have 1-2 voices that dont fit but its MILES ahead of what we had 20 years ago on the regular.
Demons just project their voice into your head ;P
Weirdly high standards, maybe? Or possibly a complaint about the editing style, which is a legitimate complaint I suppose. Especially if one isn't used to visual novel-style voice work. The repetition of clipped lines might be annoying to the uninitiated.
The quality of the acting itself is pretty exceptional, in my opinion. For what they have to work with, the actors are giving charming and evocative performances. If they ever produce a fully-voiced version or sequel, maybe we'll have a different conversation.
