I had about thirty extra parts, mostly white and green so I decided to dump those and start only holding on to blue.
Currently, I have a couple of blue guns and only a few spare parts. Learning more about the way guns get built can help as you get to tougher depots and need more than just one type of gun other than the revolver.
So try making a few spare guns and see what they do, then pitch the guns that aren't good enough or yank the parts out and reconfigure them until you figure out a couple of options you like.
As for the revolver parts, they do make changes, but since they never break, only keep your highest tier of any particular part, and throw away the duplicates or lower grade pieces. I do believe I saw two duplicate green pieces actually be slightly different so you might compare them carefully before throwing them out, but I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Example is that is I get the right barrel, grip, and cylinder, I can make it kinda look like either the Colt 1851 Navy or the Colt 1860 Army revolvers.
Also, there are a couple other questions I've for the parts and stats.
Parts: Is there a way to scrap them down into resources or I just simply toss them out like trash?
Stats: This has always been bugging me when I first starting to swap out parts for either my revolver or rifles. What do the colors and numbers mean?
Do the green text a good thing or a bad thing? Same to the red stats.
Do having high numbers a good thing or having no numbers is better?
Maybe worth to keep a few parts for experimenting, but the first many hours the stuff is arcane anyway.
