Weapon modification is so complicated
Can someone please explain the weapon modification interface to me. I have 3 symbols that look the same in the frame, where can I see what I currently have installed? Why does SPS always say ??? when I want to install a module. Where can I see which module my weapon currently has?

Thanks

There are Damage, Accuracy, Firerate, Stability, Reload Speed, Range, Mag, Handling, cores.

The frames are different in the status effects if you read the right hand side of the specs, even if there the same stats. their might be a change in the status effects

The dps is ??? because your changing the weapon itself so it can not be calculated till an option it chosen.

To see what parts you have you need to build an armory 1 so you can swap out parts.

what? why wouldn't it be able to subtract the current added value and then add the value on the new piece?

If the gun is incomplete it will not give you a complete dps, but still will give you stats. The only way you can get away with out having a completed gun is not having a stock, or sight. Those two parts are the only ones that can be removed and the game will still be able to create a dps number.

After much confusion i realised the bonus stats have nothing to do with the description on the item parts, so regardless of the text you'll still need to equip every part to see what it does (for green and above).

You can deduce a bit, like any barrel with "crusher" is shotgun, or magazine with "toxic" will poison on chance. but the additional bonuses are random.

On the subject, can someone way why "henry" barrels or w/e it is for the pistol, which says it adds 300% more projectiles, still only fires one projectile?

Crafting is very "strange". I'm building a new gun and now I don't know how to manypulate my pistol because the only option I have on the armory is "continue" building the new weapon.

You can't pick up an incomplete weapon, so you either need to finish the current one (minimum Barrel, mag, frame, trigger) or dismantle it then you can tinker with your pistol.

Because i dont like wasting limited ammo in the Void, i built multiple Armoury so each of my 'heavy' weapons has its own bench and i just carry the pistol. Saves a lot of confusion and doesnt take up *that* much space.

I also have a spare bench for dismantling guns i find during encounters. (because i accidentally lost some parts initially).

Nice tip !!!

i think there's either a communication barrier here or something isn't being conveyed properly. if i'm switching out one part of a gun it should be able to give me the stats when hovering over the other parts shown in the same menu. it's the same part slot. there's only one part being changed, so why can't it just show what the stats would be if that part completed the weapon? why can't it just show the base modifiers for the part itself?

also, do you guys ever intend on adding tooltips to gun parts themselves? so i don't have to break down my weapon, figure out which part of the stack of parts i just picked up, and slap the completed weapon together to figure out what something is? it'd make life so much easier if it would just show me some info ANYWHERE other than having to hover back and forth between two parts and looking for which lines change.

also also, can we have a text description rather than an icon that i have to look up on the wiki to tell what stats are being affected? fire rate/accuracy/etc as pictures that aren't terribly obvious is just confusing for no reason.

i just pick up all weapons and dismantle them if i see blue/purple/yellow parts and then with my full inventory i go modify each of my weapons and check if a slot has an upgrade or not .

if you click a part slot and hover the mouse over each part in that slot you will see the numbers go green(upgrade) or red(downgrade).

after i checked all part slot i just dump all the trash parts in my inventory and go either dismantle the next weapons or keep playing

its pretty simple for me , might be boring or hard work for others

I've started to get used to the stats that are displayed on the parts, so at least now i know a shotgun barrel from a hunter barrel etc just by looking at the base stats.

But yeah, you can't do that with an assembled gun so i'm usually hauling 5-6 guns back from the station raid to check for parts.
