Can't place the steam engine

I've cleared an entire platform at the front of my train for it and it still won't place. Do I need to upgrade/lengthen the platform first or is there something else?

EDIT: I misunderstood, I thought every line of planks was one platform upgrade, turns out it's every TWO. I only had two lengths instead of the necessary three. Oh well, guess I'll be building it at the next platform and leaving behind ANOTHER rofleemo. F***.

I needed to deconstruct the horn to get it positioned correctly. Your platform needs to be a minimum of three sections long, though if it is full length you'll have a place to set up some crates for water and fuel...

try upgrading your first car to four platforms then remove to horn transmission brake and accelerator to place the steam engine.

the lowest setting on the engine requires no fuel to use.

Mine is FOUR platforms long and I've already disassembled all that stuff! It's driving me crazy!
