Is there a way to shutdown Epic Integration
Hello to all,

a Question: Is there a way to Shutdown / Disable Epic Store Integration.

As soon as I start the game it opens the Browser to EpicGames. After I close the Browser the game functions normally. So no need for another Launcher on my PC.

Many thanks in advance

Dunno what you mean. I don't have EGS installed on my computer and launching the demo at least doesn't open anything but the game itself. The devs have said that the Steam version is entirely separate and that you don't need an EGS account or to have EGS installed for this game to run on Steam.

Hello,

If you ever have a Steam + Epic Games account synced, in the game settings - try unlinking it and linking it again, please.

Why should he have to link in the first place, if we're not playing cross play then it shouldn't need to be linked to (s)ep(t)ic games store :steamfacepalm:

so people wait a year because they dotn want to get it on epic, yet the game needs you to link it to epic account anyway?

Game looks cool but after learning it was an epic exclusive for a year I have zero interest anymore and will add it to my ignore list, these companies need to learn a lesson for their anti-consumer practises.

nothing "anti consumer" about that practice :lunar2019crylaughingpig:
actually it's even "PRO consumer" since they got money from epic, used it for development so game gets to steam in a lot better state for you, as a consumer.
This isn't the first game that did it.... even very succesfull games like Satisfactory did the exact same thing.

Just link your damn account and shut up about it... it takes literally 5 seconds to do.

Why does avoiding Epic matter so much?

It is not to avoid it - I just do not need another Application on my PC. I just need steam and until now it does just fine without another launcher in place.

Because:
- Epic laucher collected massive information from other installed launcher (incl. games, friends and co.) in the past. Timmyboy said it was a bug...
- Epic launcher scanned running processes, cookies and certs from browser. Timmyboy said it was some leftover from fortinite....
- Tencent, a big Chinese company, is one of the biggest shareholders. The community assumes that Timmyboy is giving them information about their customers. Timmyboy denies, nobody knows... Nevertheless, this has also a bad taste
- Epic manipulates (and rips off) Children through fortinite. In the past they had some financial penalties because of that ♥♥♥♥
- the whole exclusive game ♥♥♥♥

And those were just the most obvious cases. There are certainly more if you look for them.

Enough reasons for avoiding/boycotting epic? :)

By that logic, i should get the game on steam for free since. I want to play with people on steam. But i can't? Because its EPIC only? Sheesh loweeze. Thanks. This ♥♥♥♥ goes back and forth.

it shows that Epic is a ♥♥♥♥ platform.

Origin and Steam both do a lot of these in part. Anyway, EGS is not required to play the game. Tencent has probably gotten your information some other way. Move on.

I'm not sure what you think "anti-consumer" and "pro-consumer" mean, but it's clear you don't know what they actually mean.

Platform/Store exclusives are not pro-consumer. Any business practice that excludes players based on their choice of launcher/store is, by its very nature, anti-consumer. Platform/Store exclusives are a trash business practice that's embraced by the console companies. And even Microsoft has recognized the idiocy of it and it working to get away from it.

When the choice is only based on principle, is it really anti-consumer? No one is stopping you from using another storefront but yourself. If anyone plays EA or Ubisoft games, the launchers are already on your PC, whether or not you shop them.
