Hello,
If you ever have a Steam + Epic Games account synced, in the game settings - try unlinking it and linking it again, please.
actually it's even "PRO consumer" since they got money from epic, used it for development so game gets to steam in a lot better state for you, as a consumer.
This isn't the first game that did it.... even very succesfull games like Satisfactory did the exact same thing.
Hi after reading this.... - I do not have a Epic Account and do not want to!
To make things easy - Ill try and find a way or its a uninstall and refund!
Because:
- Epic laucher collected massive information from other installed launcher (incl. games, friends and co.) in the past. Timmyboy said it was a bug...
- Epic launcher scanned running processes, cookies and certs from browser. Timmyboy said it was some leftover from fortinite....
- Tencent, a big Chinese company, is one of the biggest shareholders. The community assumes that Timmyboy is giving them information about their customers. Timmyboy denies, nobody knows... Nevertheless, this has also a bad taste
- Epic manipulates (and rips off) Children through fortinite. In the past they had some financial penalties because of that ♥♥♥♥
- the whole exclusive game ♥♥♥♥
And those were just the most obvious cases. There are certainly more if you look for them.
Enough reasons for avoiding/boycotting epic? :)
it shows that Epic is a ♥♥♥♥ platform.
Platform/Store exclusives are not pro-consumer. Any business practice that excludes players based on their choice of launcher/store is, by its very nature, anti-consumer. Platform/Store exclusives are a trash business practice that's embraced by the console companies. And even Microsoft has recognized the idiocy of it and it working to get away from it.
When the choice is only based on principle, is it really anti-consumer? No one is stopping you from using another storefront but yourself. If anyone plays EA or Ubisoft games, the launchers are already on your PC, whether or not you shop them.
