They should really tell you that as a tooltip on the book...
If you build the Library, you can also research Electromancer and Geomancer. Or use the starting Library. Though you have to get the materials to build the Library thou, but once you do, you can research till you dream of runes. And get your level up too.
You're not dumb.
For me, it was the "press E" that got me confused, because I didn't expect I should actually "hold E".
After sitting at the table it was clear you need a book, once you figured out you can take a seat there... also, the books keep yeeting themselves away for me.
I managed to level pyromancy to 5 and now want to improve cyromancy. (actually want other magic, but I guess that's not within the library at the beginning)
Yea, this is really really cool. I still keep messing up a few letters accidentally (S/X, N,U) and sometimes have to look some letters up on the side, but within the couple minutes I just invested to get pyro to 5 and cyro to 2 or 3 (unsure which it is right now) I honestly can't believe how fast I memorized most of them right now. But to be fair, the runes are not the hardest alphabetical symbols (tried to learn japanese, and those things seem waaaay harder) the only problem with some runes is their similarity to the roman letters, but with a complete different meaning (P/W, X/G, F/A)
I first thought to maybe look for a mod that just translates the letters, but it now kinda makes some fun to translate them, if it weren't for that timer for additional exp. *sweat*
