Why is it so much harder to get people to join your court?
I've been trying to get high stewardship characters to join my court and teach my children, because I'm playing tall this game, and it's so damn hard.

Nobody wants to come to your court in CK3. It's impossible to bring in people with good traits.

All my heirs only end up with like 9 stewardship, despite having a guardian with 20+ stewardship, a good tutor, and stewardship focus.

I can't attract anyone with any real traits, because they won't join my court.

There's a current bug preventing education in most cases getting to the 3rd or 4th level. I'm sure brinijg in people would make a meaningful difference anyway.

Are you maxing out your court lodgings if you have a royal court? Since that does give a bonus to inviting people to court.

Wait, seriously? This is confirmed?

No, I'll look into it. I'm a Duke, though. Not sure I have a court.

Yeah, it's confirmed that they didn't mean for it to happen. Like, supposedly you need a university to even get to level 4. Genius is supposed to be the biggest modifier. Hopefully they'll fix it soon.

honestly, it depends a bit, I had games where I was a duke and had 4-5 people with intelligent/hale traits, and then had games where I struggled to fill even my council positions with people with 10 or higher.

Using the decision to get knights is good for getting more people onto your court since they sometimes can be quite decent at stuff other then fighting

One way to get stewardship characters is to use a culture with that aspect that lets you hire gardeners. Otherwise you can try to arrange marriages to courtiers. Like if you have an unmarried courtier you can arrange a marriage to get another character to come to your court for free. Females can be guardians so you can arrange marriages to your knights as a possibility.

Also the "hire court physician" decision can give you free courtiers too, even if u have a 30 learning renowned physician already, use the decision anyways every year and it will show a few people, see if they are good in a stat or make a good knight, then right click them invite to court, then click option to dismiss the choices.

If they both your culture and religion they will likely join for free(doing it this way removes the -50 base chance to join modifier) but if they different culture and/or religion, you might have to slip them a little bribe to convince them(the option to pay their travel) which still ends up being cheaper then the usual recruit costs, and even cheaper then paying for one to join in the event itself

There is also a dynasty prestige choice that makes people with better stats and qualities more wanting to come to your court without you even having to do the work of finding and inviting them. I forget which branch in the dynasty bonuses it's in, but it's the first choice in whatever branch.

Edit: and it's good to get this bonus, because as a dynasty bonus, it won't help just your current character, it will help your whole dynasty/ every ruler you play in that game.

I know it's not really what was asked for... But abducting characters that are not landed (or married) works wonders. There are also some cultures/religions? that you can break marriages with, if you take the target as concubine for example and then drop & marry off.

Probably to counter that very thing, how easy it once was to bribe and invite uberstat characters from around the world. Now it seems they need a real reason to want to leave their current home.

Just max out lodging standards and court grandeur, and be a great guy in general.

Otherwise, use marriage arrangements.

I go manual at times and just look at neighboring Kings' courtiers and send them gold gift and then invite them to my court. You being a Duke could also be an issue.

If you have unmarried female courtiers, find them a spouse. (Remeber matrilineal so that your women don't leave to the mans court, and make sure the men are unlanded)
Sometimes the game only offers them your own Knights or male courtiers as options (based on culture/religion/location) but usually you have good choices.
I usually marry a random knight to a high Intrigue woman with good traits so that she isn't insane serial killer or a traitor. Other knight to a good court physician if no good choices.
And if need knights marry random courtier ladies to the best of the best prowess dudes and free super knights ready to serve. (also avoid insane or evil guys, rather you take 24 Prowess Paragon than a Evil Blackguard with 32 Prowess)

this just proves that ck3 game and event design and its difficulty is a joke lol
i never knew you could exploit it this way... i guess i never really needed too because when you max out you amenities, which also happens quite fast, you dont really have problems with courtiers, and there is also that aformentioned dynasty perk which helps with courtiers too (its a good path too)
