Ecclesiastical Succession Bug

[Sebastocratore]

I am the Pope and I have founded a dynasty. When my character dies, succession automatically goes to the first cardinal on the list. After that, the Christendom: Schism Phase event pops up, asking me to choose whether to support Church Unity or the Roman Rite, but it treats me as the newly elected Pope (the cardinal who inherited the papacy).

I make my choice (if I don't, the game won't let me continue), and afterwards I'm given the option to continue playing as the new Pope or as a member of my dynasty.

If I choose to continue as the Pope, everything works fine. However, if I choose my first dynastic heir (a 15-year-old archbishop), I can't unpause the game because it seems like I'm supposed to choose my position on the schism again (pro-schism or anti-schism), but the option to do so doesn't appear anywhere, and the game gets stuck.
