Too many plagues
I understand its set in medieval times and sanitation was low, plagues were high, and all that.

But this is absurd to deal with. Constant plagues... I'm in the late game and never have a year left without a plague, even sometimes dealing with three at the same time.

When one finally goes away, a new one starts again.

While it does not affect me too much due to my wealth and high popularity, it's so unbelievable annoying

I assume you have a large empire with fairly high development? There's the rub I'm afraid.

Yep. You'll get to the point where ALL plagues ALWAYS target you if you get a large enough empire with some very high developed duchies. Even if you lower the amount of plagues that spawn, they will still be extremely common and still target you primarily.

If it's bothering you, you can turn it off in the game rules before you start a game. It will disable achievements but if you don't care about that, then it doesn't matter.
Set plagues to rare or disabled and be done with it.

Still enough to be the primary target of plagues if the development is high. Plus, I'm pretty sure the game is coded to target the player primarily with plagues. It sure seems like it anyway (I've had plagues spammed on me as an Irish king, only holding Ireland, with minimal development, so idk).
Taken from the Wiki:
* The number of buildings increase the chance for a plague to appear or spread in a barony, especially tradeports, markets, guilds, or if the holding is a Holding city.png city. Plagues spread faster across coastal regions

* Development and later eras increase the chance for a plague to be of higher intensity.
its getting to the point where you have to disable DLC to actually have a fun game.

I have multiple plagues at the same time, it is getting to a point where it is quite ridiclious, but on the other hand it is a good way to get rid of vassals who hate you.
