You can marry them off to get alliances. You can also marry them into other courts matrilinearly and slip into the line of succession, possibly following up with murders to make her husband the main heir. You can also recruit high prowess knights to the court for free by marrying them to your daughter.

I try and marry them to a king or heir of an independent ruler so that I get more renown. You get renown if they are married to a ruler. Not sure on exact specifics, in particular I don't know if it gives you renown if she is married to a ruler who is a vassal of somebody else.

If there isn't any of them, then I look at potential alliances I can get. Somebody who is reasonably strong and reasonably close to me.

If I can't do either of them, then I do a matrilineal marriage to whoever has the highest prowess (so I have a new Knight). I do this with all the other single females in my court too!

Not sure if this is the best way though.

Edit: Looks like MathCoffee beat me to it.

Bad trait ones I get rid of. I maternally marry them if they have inheritables. You will need the extra bodies when its time to give out land.

Treat them as if they may be the next heir. You never know when an accident happens and you are left with a complicated issue.

I have a female ruler that I didn't expect. Was the daughter of the previous ruler's first son. Wasn't in line of succession until I changed a religious law without fully understanding the mechanic. Sad thing was that I didn't matrilinialy marry her, so now I have a bunch of primary titles that are about to be lost if I can't get a concubine to make her pregnant for a blood-line heir, then kill the patrilinial kids.

Good Trait = I breed it to perfect king
Bad trait = i send her toward enemy, and waiting her dead

You ♥♥♥♥♥ them out for alliances ofcourse.

If you're short on male children, you can knock them up, but that's kinda risky.

I'll pass them off to disgruntled vassals too sort of as a bribe, or as a reward for good performance.

Your dynasty gets more renown the more living members it has. Get them married to fertile people. I believe the Lustful trait increases fertility?

This is very interesting. I know that

1. Daughter can bring alliance, but normally it is hard to get with matriarcal lineage, powerful men do not accept.

2. I know you can try to get prestige for your house/dynasty. But I think it is so weak decision. This is the last thing I try to get.

Now what I would expect is to get your house to grow. Or to generate men child, so you can grant then lands, so you can have more vassals with the same house as you. That's the main purpose I have being doing. But marriage in same house, give a lot of prestige too.

Marry them off to powerful nations to create alliances.

The "best" things have already been mentioned, alliances, maitrilineal prowess knights, etc.

The very best move I was ever able to pull off, though, was getting my daughters to contract the bubonic plague and them marrying them off to my rivals as bioweapons. Boy howdy, that worked. I've only been able to do it the once, however.

marry them off to gain prestige/alliances outside the real OR marry them to powerful vassals to expand the blood ties your house has. Another option is to marry them to powerful ruling relatives to keep the bloodline "pure" (but increase chance of inbred or deformities of children).
