Provide some examples that offer the kind of difficulty you desire.

What games do you like the difficulty of? What games do you find too hard? This will make it easier to convey how difficult the game would be for you.

Only platformers?

I have not completed this game yet, but I've played for a few hours. So far I believe that this game is far easier than Dust: An Elysian Tail, Ori and the Blind Forest, and Guacamelee. The combat is pretty easy (I seldom even get hurt, and when I do it's because I'm just being lazy), and the platforming is simple being that you just fly everywhere.

I think Ori was a little hard, but Dust: An Elysian Tail is for me even too easy. If owlboy is even easier, is it boring?

The game seems to be designed with the intention of letting players of literally all skill levels beat it. It's quite pretty but doesn't have anything going for it in the challenge department and for a game based around flying the flying mechanics are strangely unsatisfying. I guess the intent was to satisfy through the visuals and story alone?

Yet I just read three posts of people complaining about how hard it was :) lol

I say it's fairly easy..some of the bosses can be a bit frustrating if you don't pay attention or give up to easy. Overall not too bad at all.

I don't think it's boring at all, though I suppose if you're looking for a challenge it won't be in this game. I just enjoy the music, the visuals, and flying around collecting coins. It's relaxing.

I just made a bunch of progress this morning, and I can definitely see how people are upset about the difficulty spike. It never gets hard (in my opinion), but it definitely does become (quite suddenly) more difficult. I don't see why people are complaining about the monkey miniboss part, it wasn't difficult at all. I've yet to do the cannon minigame people are complaining about, but I do have it unlocked. So far I'd say this is a pretty great game to introduce someone to platformers and metroidvanias.

The later bosses (particularly the second-to-last boss) are a massive difficulty spike until you realize that the grapple move makes you completely invincible for like two entire seconds, even if you target nothing with it. I think they designed it that way because environmental hazards and certain boss attacks that you're supposed to go through with it have the same type of hitboxes as normal attacks, but either way, it's really really exploitable.

It's honestly not a very difficult game, but that isn't a bad thing. It has a few encounters that you may die to a couple times before learning what you should be doing in the situation, but other than that it will be smooth sailing throughout the entire game. There's also plenty of checkpoints so you'll never lose much progress even if you do die.

As someone else has already stated, later in the game you gain some abilities that give you invincibility frames that last for a very long time and you can effectively breeze through the rest of the game 'abusing' that mechanic (not that it's really needed).

I just finished the cannon minigame. It was mildly difficult. Getting all of the rings in one try would have definitely been very hard, but with unlimited tries it's not so bad. Once you memorize the path it's actually pretty easy to navigate.
