It is a standalone experience that doesn't require that you own the base game! It is a completely new narrative that only very loosely ties into Knight's Tale, so there isn't any transferred progress as such

This is one game I have in my Wish list that will pick up as soon as released. So, got the date pencilled in. Wasn't too sure on 'A Knight's Tale' due to it's different angle on thing's, but have loved every minute I've played so far.
