Sir Lancelot VA
I was very excited to finally get this knight, even went into the mission underleveled to get him early, almost lost two knights for that mistake. I got to use Sir Lancelot, and I love his kit. His looks are amazing too, his design is great. But his voice... I have seldom heard such a dead and unmotivated voice. I'm not sure why this is, it doesn't fit his character at all... Not his knightly looks nor his description as being charming. It almost makes me not want to use him at all despite how strong he is. Was this done on purpose or is it just extremely poor voice acting?

Oof that's bad news. I haven't done a Christian/Rightful playthrough yet so I haven't had a chance to recruit him. There's definitely a dropoff in quality for some VAs. The good ones are excellent, whereas the bad ones are no good at all.

Absolutely, some VAs are phenomenal! But some of them seem really off, which is why I'm not sure if it's intentional or not.

100% agree, this is one of my biggest gripes, a lot of the voice acting sounds like a bad placeholder and mixed in with a few professionals makes it glaringly obvious. Someone told me they got youtubers to do some of the voices, not sure if that is true or not, but it would explain the amateur voices for some characters.

I did ask before if the devs did some of the voices, but they said that wasnt the case.

well, the Youtuber Fextralife admit he did the voices for Sir Lancelot, I don't know if he's a professional VA or not but he state it in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rIlWZ2QVE8&ab_channel=Fextralife

I read something about this and also thought that it was just a rumour, thanks for the link! Considering his investment and interest it almost feels like it must be intentional in that case. If that was the direction they gave him for Lancelot's voice then that's that, I think it's a bit of a shame though, as a more charming or heroic voice would suit the character better in my opinion.

I can't understand how that got through to the final product, to be honest. It's not just bad, it's atrocious. It doesn't help that he left the project due to "personal reasons" before finishing all his voice lines.

Hopefully since the game appears to have been a success, they'll just recast Lancelot to someone who isn't terrible.

Lady Isolde isnt great either shes not as bad as lancelot but gives off a bored unmotivated vibe

I usually play with sound off for this reason, with a show or YT video on nearby. VA is uneven, combat sounds get repetitive, etc. Plus dialogue is shown over character's heads, so no biggie.

It's a shame that all of you do not like his voice. Guess I am the only one who really appreciate VA and his voicelines for Lancelot...
