treachery bonus recruitable hero
I did the mission and everything, killed uther ghost guy too, did everything. But I didn't get any new recruitable hero. Maybe it's because of not choosing a correct dialogue choice? Or is it because I didn't upgrade the round table for hero slots yet? I thought if I don't have free slots that they'll wait for me in the list of aspirant heroes until I upgrade or dismiss someone else

Ok,so here is what you do..you duel em..That is It..When It is done you choose the "How about you work for me" choice. The other choices will lead to him dying.

So,It is dialog connected.
damn that sucks a bit. how are we supposed to know that? there was no hint about it. of course i'll avoid duel, why make it unecessarily harder for myself on hard roguelite

I think they should give more hint about choices that would mean not being able to recruit a hero

If you want a guide, you can use the wiki. it explains nearly everything.

I don't want to play with a walkthough that's cheating. But this game is just designed so unorthodox is a bad way, just really bad. So many choices where you lose if you make the smart choice. Another one was this Sir Jonah bone guy who wanted a duel so he can escape the ring he's trapped in, when declining that nothing happens. What is even the point of that. Is there any reward if you accept and defeat him? So many stupid choices in this game.

So, you dont want a guide, but you want the game to tell you exactly what you have to do... which is exactly the same.

Have you not even thought about those "duel" options existing for a reason? Mainly that you are supposed to fight them.

Obviously you have never played an RPG before and you're obviously speeaking in hindsight. In most RPG there are different results that happen with each dialogue choice but nothing happening at all is rare in most other RPGs. In every single RPG every it's always clear if you're talking to someone who can be recruited to the party and which dialogue choices reject them or accept them.
You are probably also using walkthroughs to play games since you seem so fond of them and want to defend them.
We are already giving hints about which dialogue choices will start a battle because of the battle icon. But by your logic that is same thing as if the devs have added a walkthrough guide telling you exactly everything that will happen. Why do weapons tell you how much damage they do? Omg that's like devs are making a walkthrough built into the game, we should have to test every single weapon to find out the damage they do.

Some things we are supposed to know to be able to play the game.

Oh, of course I have played them. For more than 30 years now, And one of the reasons is your choices are YOUR choices.

If I started one and found out that the game is telling me how I must do things to get what I want, then it would not be different than just follow a guide.

You get the info of which chouce is an inmediate battle or a duel. That´s not a guide as you dont know if that´s the choice that will give you what you want. You are only being told the inmediate consequence of that answer, even if most times is completely unnecessary as the meaning of the phrase is crystal clear.

I never needed to use any walkthrough. I lost the chance to recruit a guy because I dismissed an specific knight needed for that mission, but you dont see me here whining about it because I understood that it was MY choice to do it.

Same as you rejecting duels that are OBVIOUSLY designed with the sole purpose of being accepted.

I did a mission where a lost one wanted to duel me so they can die. I thought about how so many pointless duels I've declined have made me miss out on rewards even a hero, so this time I accepted the duel but I got no kind of reward for defeating him
