This is very stupid idea in the game.
because there are many civilizations and dozens of knights in the game, all of them are really well designed with their drawings and story, as I said, people should be able to play with the knights they want without firing them.

And Syberian is right: The devs just don't care at all about suggestions. The other suggestion made early on was to allow us to see the entire skill tree (you can still Google for it on the web) in-game so you can make a better decision on who to keep - again since all dismissals are permanent.
The mod does, however, allow this. But there is no 'fix' for permanent dismissal unfortunately.
