Why does the mission for Sir Bedievere have such a hard last fight
I have been breezing through the missions but for some reason its almost impossible for me to win this fight. I'm matching the mission level and my guys are healthy with basically full armor and HP. What happened? This is some terrible balance

I cleared out the far left corner and hunkered down with Ice wall from a Sage to funnel them (on Hard). Agreed though, it was WAY harder.

I made the mistake of taking two archers because I didn't think this would be the hardest fight in the game, wish I could just lower the difficultly but you cannot while on a mission for some reason. I tried every strategy I can think of but I just lose and its not even close. I do not understand what the developers were thinking, Every single fight has been a complete push over until this which is impossible with my set up.

The second time you speak to the ghost of the sacristan (in the second hallway between the second and third room) make sure to fully explore his conversation. If you ask him about the undead guards he will inform you that one of the undead knights is very proud and honourable and that, if you challenge him to a duel, he will grant you anything if you win.

Later on, when you meet sir Roderic, if you haven't learned this information from the Sacristan, then the cutscene goes straight into a fight. If you have learned this information it turns into a conversation with an option to fight, to challenge him to a duel, or to persuade him that you respect the place and he'll let you pass without a fight.

If you challenge him to a duel and manage to beat him then he'll order the four named foes in the final encounter to stay out of the fight and you only have to fight the minions. If you didn't beat sir Roderic in a duel then you get the really hard version of the fight (with the lighting bolts, poison clouds, magic shields that absorb hits etc).

Yeah I ended up reading that on a reddit post that was having the same issue. I am just going to stop playing, personally I cannot even begin to understand what thought process went into that decision. Got my refund and moving on

Lucky you. I ended up finding out by fluke yesterday after four months of beating my head against that encounter on Hard difficulty.

I just had this version, but actually breezed through on hard with Mordred, Tristan, Yvain and Balan. The worst of it was Tristan taking 12 Vitality damage and having to sit a mission out to recover (with no injuries).

Sir Bedivere was a very easy mission, I cleared it lego on the hardest difficulty

That's because you learned about the duel and fought the duel.

I never miss duels, but there are very few of them in the game, only 4 pieces. The funny thing is that there are a lot of garbage items that give a bonus in a duel, this is such nonsense

Duels is not only fight versus lost knight's and lanval.
It's battle mechanic.
U can read about it by ingame wiki.

Took the time to login just to reply to this massive piece of information.

The duel is pretty easy and removing those knights makes an absolute beast of a difference. I was pretty close to clearing it with them but would lose a knight doing so.

Also highly recommend 3 melee and Sir Ector (cause fireball) but truly just remove the 4 makes a crazy difference.
