Combat vs Expeditions Rome
If I liked the combat style in Expeditions Rome would you naturally then recommend this game? On the contrary I also tried out Disciples Liberation but didn't like that one so much.

Well I played Expeditions: Vikings and I liked both. If you like tactical rpgs and gigachads in armor I recommend this, especially if you like Arthurian Legend stuff.

I bought E: Rome but yet to play it.

I guess i'd sum it up by saying I like the more 3D dynamic battle maps than fighting on something resembling an empty 'board' like the other game I mentioned or something like Battle Brothers for another example. I guess Rome was a natural evolution from Vikings though so probably the same concept.

Turn based, but not the same. They have very different mechanics. KA is more combat skirmish focused while Exp is very story based. Basically, there's a lot of fighting in KA vs Exp. Though they are both enjoyable in their own right. I didn't like Disciples much.

I've finished ER and about 1hr into KA, my 1hr into KA so far has been much more enjoyable than 1hr in ER. The whole turn-based party management gameplay is similar with great combat in both.

I also didn't like DL gameplay and combat.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'm gonna pick it up. Sounds like my thing and I have the 2 hour window anyway. Cheers

I played Vikings, and I would say Vikings is a bit more adventure, and story to it.. But Im not super far into this game yet.. So far, the combat is similar. I personally got a little put off by some of the out of place modernism was inserted into Rome, so I passed on that one.

Thanks but this thread is actually from 6 months ago, I already bought the game. Some strange guy necro'd it from obscurity yesterday lol

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
