Should I start again?

Hello,

I just bought the game today, and I'm hooked. I played just a few missions, and I chose Balan because I liked his big axe and Balin felt a bit "unreasonably bad" (red armour, vilain voice,... ).
But I wasn't sure the way I wanted to play, and now I want to play as a bad Mordred, Tyran and Old Faith. And I think Balin won't be very happy with it ahah, I guess his loyalty will go down very fast.

In your opinion, should I restart from the beginning? (I play hard/roguelite, I can't load a previous save)

Sir Balin is Tyrant and Christian, so he will be as happy as his brother.

I was a few hours into the game but had to reinstall windows so I decided to start from scratch. Much easier once I had the basic game mechanics pinned down (too easy maybe) so if you feel you've made a wrong choice I think restarting might be the right choice.

I haven't tried hard difficulty because I'm not a masochist though, I'll wait until I complete normal difficulty first :-p

Yeah you don't have to think much in the early game. I think my first character death happened around level 10 and i don't think any would have if I bothered using potions. But you get lots of new characters as the game goes on so it doesn't matter too much.

Balin is the best vanguard for Tyrant. Balan is opposite morality of Tyrant. Kay is the best Champion. Take him instead of Balan. Tyrant has Black Knight. Can keep him as backup in case Kay is away on missions or injured.

I completed on hard. I would not play hard on first playthrough and definitely not roguelite. Based on my preference, i choose vanguard over arcanist. Best party setup would be Kay, Guinivere, Isolde and Balin if Tyrant or Tegyr if Christian/Old-Faith. Mordred is a subpar main character. Has no extra damage and no extra AP. Don't use him in side missions where he is not required.

Best Defender for me is either Galahad or Percivale. You get Percivale much earlier. Both are Christians but If you are Old-Faith only choice is Percivale. Both looks identical but Percivale much better as you get guard much earlier. There are missions where Defender is really useful and required. Arcanist seems to only work late game early stage. I have to ditch it for Vanguard.

Best support for me is Lady Guinivere and Lady Isolde. Edit. Just notice Guinivere is Rightful Old-Faith. Still possible to keep both Lady Guinivere and Lady Isolde if go Tyrant Old-Faith instead.
