Great game but whats up with the initial load time?

Everytime i start this game for the first time it goes through a pretty long loading process... is this a bug or am i just unlucky? My specs are good enough to run all my fps games on ultra and i have a SSD so im just wonderin

I found out why. The game does not work well with Windows Defender real time protection. If I turn off the feature, the game loads in a few seconds. If the real time protection is on, the game takes a few minutes to load although it is on SSD.

Same here. Older system, but not that old for this type of game.

Hi, it's not a bug (or at least not on your side). Honesty we are not sure what causes it. But from my personal experience for example games from Paradox bahave the same. Their first run is much more slower than the other. So it's possible it's something on the side of the operation system.

but just to be clear it doesnt happen to you? i dont mind it but man it can take up to 3-5 minutes on a cold boot.... i have Stellaris, Europa and Crusader Kings and i do remember an initial load but nothing like this

good job with the game though, it really hit the spot from the Sierra games back in the day.

I actually thought its an error and went here to see if its an issue and while reading and writing this it still didnt load. Hilarious

Also its not syncing with the cloud for some reason

sometimes when it locks up for me i have to ALT+TAB and it gets it working again (loading screen)

hope it gets fixed at some point! its a fun game

My game starts in seconds. CK3/Stellaris/and EU4 all take longer to load than this game(which take roughly 30 seconds to boot, this game takes less than 10)

Hate to be that guy but I think your rig is under powered, what specs are you running?

My PC has also no issues with loading time. The funny thing is, when I load the game first time after I start PC it takes 5-10 seconds, when I start the game every time after that it takes 1-2 seconds.
