Too simple or hard?Reviews about this game are mixed.
I played Caesar 3 two years ago and it was a tough challenge, mostly because I found out Caesar 3 has many invisible mechanics which are not described explicitly, and the ai and pathfinding of citizen leads you tob uild cities a certain way(i had to watch a youtuber to figure everything)

This game got highlighted on a digital store but reviews are mixed.
Somesay the game is a worthy successor to city builders like Caesar or Pharaoh. But the most upvoted review blames the gamez for missing a lot of features Caesar 3, a financial system that is too simple, no religions, etc. That review seems to be focused on "comparing" the game which might not be the best way to appreciate a game in general so I am not sure how relevant it is

So either people say game is good, either it lacks features, either overall hard...

It's all three.

It's a good game, in the fact that graphics are good, the core gameplay is good etc etc.

It lacks features, no walkers, no voice acting, no Gods, warfare, athletic facilities, fires, unrest etc etc etc. It doesn't need all of them, but it certainly needs more of them, something which 1.2 will be addressing a little.

Some interfaces and map modes are lacking, again something 1.2 is starting to fix.

And yeah, the game can be hard, part of it is the artificial difficulty from no major ways to make money currently in some earlier missions, turning it more into a puzzle game rather than a city builder. I think this is more of a consequence of the first two points. I don't have an issue with a challenging city builder, as long as all the tools and information are at my fingertips so I can make informed decisions about my city.

I also think its fair to compare this game to 20 year old city builders like zeus, pharaoh etc. It's a direct successor, same art style, same vibes, updated for a modern audience in a new setting. Zeus stands up as a solid game even today, with the graphics being almost timeless (if a little low res) with mechanics, that whilst a little clunky by todays standards hold up. I love zeus and always have, but it certainly feels more of a complete, fun, enjoyable experience than Neb currently does. Neb feels like 1/3 of a game. Solid foundations, great potential, but missing a lot of features that make it fun, enjoyable and compelling.

I like the game play, it's a huge improvement and not just a copy. You can see, that the developers are huge fan of Caesar and Pharaoh and have left the annoying stuff out and improved the game play a lot.
