This game was so scary I returned it

I almost pissed myself. I hate it. 10/10

do not buy on steam if you're a oculus quest 2 user, buy it on the oculus store cause, steam version of this game will not recognise the quest controllers. the demon on this game is already an A hole making me buy it twice, looked for answers too late, cant get a refund.

Scariest game ever. Wouldn't recommend if you're not ready.

Please note: Although I received a free Steam key through the Steam Curator Connect program for the Deluxe Edition, I already owned the Standard Edition (paid for out of pocket).

So I'm doing a full review on the game in the other Standard Edition. Here I am talking about the Deluxe Edition. So if you don't own either then I definitely recommend you pick up the Deluxe Edition over the Standard Edition. This not only has upgraded visuals, but also Valve Index controllers support and Oculus Rift S optimization. It also says it has upgraded movement controls, but on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers, I did not notice a difference.

If you already own the Standard Edition is there any reason to buy this? Not really, unless you own a Valve Index or Rift S and have some money to burn. The upgrade in graphics & animations is minor. The games have the same content, one just has the Chapters as DLC while the Deluxe Edition has all the episodes together in one package. However, you experience just the same from the in-game setup (you're choosing the files from your office).

I won't say too much other than I got scared. In fact, I stopped playing after the first episode. I decided to man up and finish all the episodes on this Deluxe Edition. This is the scariest experience I've ever had in VR. Second place is not even close. It took me a little over 3 hours to finish the game. I had to play something else right after so that, hopefully, I don't have nightmares. My only complaints is that this game is short in content for the price (but it is high quality content) and some of the object-hunting to progress the story can get a little frustrating (especially in the dark).

Rate 8/10. Buy this game is you dare. If you decide this is too scary for you though, I don't blame you!

Good horror game but horrible and buggy control scheme and bugs riddled throughout.
1. My progress keeps disappearing. Most of the time when I enter the game, the previous chapters have been wiped out.
2. There's no consequences to failing. The demons don't actually harm you in game and you don't lose. The first chapter seemed a bit intense but it was kinda boring after that, when you realize that monsters are like bad CGI and you can't actually die
3. Exorcism is mostly cut scenes, you just hold up the appropriate tool and you're done. Once I got stuck when I picked the wrong tool and I couldn't exorcise Baal, couldn't change to the correct tool and couldn't quit or die. It just kept repeating over and over.
4. Very short chapters.
5. And another bug, I can't continue like this. Not worth the $25. Changed my review from Recommended to Do not recommend.

Tons of complaints but still good concept

Okay. First off, I LOVE 'The Exorcist' (the original) and 'Exorcist III' (but while it's an excellent movie, it doesn't come CLOSE to the original). I refuse to watch 'Exorcist II,' but am tempted to check it out just to see how bad it is.

This game is loosely based on William Peter Blatty's 'Exorcist' book sequel, 'Legion,' which he himself adapted into 'Exorcist III' (with much studio interference, but there is a version that is much closer to the book that you can buy on Blu-Ray with the Collector's Edition of 'E-III'). The game, obviously, took the title, but added 'The Exorcist' and 'VR' on. 'Legion' is about Detective Kinderman from its predecessor, and you play as a detective in this game, trying to figure out strange, supernatural happenings.
The Gemini Killer, the main antagonist in 'Legion' and 'The Exorcist III,' is briefly seen on a VHS tape you receive after Chapter 4 and you receive a letter from him.

Now about the game. I was wary at first, but also excited because it was an 'Exorcist' game. Oh. My. Pazuzu. This game scared the $#!+ out of me, and I was also more entertained by the story than I originally thought I would be.

Pros:
- It scared the $#!+ out of me
- Was entertained by the story and each episode
- Really cool and creepy demon and location design
- Creepy soundtrack, different than the original film soundtrack, which I liked.
-You'll absolutely love it if you're an 'Exorcist' fan, and you'll still really like it if you're not. Non-horror fans, I don't know. But they should give it a try anyway.

Cons:
- Not a great price. $25 for essentially 90 minutes of gameplay (took me almost 4 hours because I'm bad at figuring $#!+ out).
$10 or $15 would me more reasonable.
- Unless you're a real completionist, there's little replay value, unless you want to play it for someone else (like my parents) who can't stomach VR. It's more of an experience than a game, as it is mostly puzzle solving/way-finding, you can't die, and there is little challenge. Just the challenge of how long you can hold your $#!+.
- Ran into a bug at the end of Chapter 4 (NO Spoilers) where my crucifix wouldn't work. I restarted the chapter and was able to speedrun up to where I got to and my crucifix worked. Chapter 5 and the rest had no issues.

8.5/10 from me, as an 'Exorcist' fan.

Good, scary and looks nice. I see a lot of negative reviews related to controls and things not working. I played on Oculus Quest 2 via Virtual Desktop and it worked just fine.
