Can I get out of a Spirit ship?

Currently on the Nimika Wisdom mission where I've become a guardian and have just used a Spirit ship to help a rebel ship, now my goal is to meet with Awaan and destroy a big ship by attacking some small crystals.

The problem is that a Spirit has nowhere near the maneuverability I usually have when fighting these big ships, so I just get bombarded while slowly trying to inch my way around to target the crystals.

Is there any way to leave the ship manually or do I really need to abort the mission and not use the Spirit ship next time?

i'm at that exact mission too but i'm not sure how to destroy the crystals. You have to destroy them normally with a rite of the storm. But while in the spirit ship, you have no access to them. And i'm shooting those crystals since minutes and nothing happens. Destroyed all destroyable parts of the ship already. Any idea? Did i miss something?

Okay, had to reload the checkpoint. Now i could damage the crystals. Looks like a bug.
