How is the time limit like?
So for what feels like forever ago I had gotten the first game for the series and was really fond of it throughout my time until I had reached an unwinnable situation in my first playthrough. I didn't know I should to multiple saves so in 1 save, Alchemy Level was super high, Money super high, but Combat Level was crappy, you can imagine how that went when I needed special items from high level mobs. (Or just get through them.) Suffice to say, I was pissed to be so close to the end, only to completely fail as New Game+ wasn't a thing.

ANYWAY, I hadn't played the sequels and have no idea what changes it's gone through and was thinking about grabbing this one cause when I hear the words "Dark" or "Dusk" I think we're gonna have some pleasing spooky times.

Well the latest one seems to be having a TON of porting pains so I thought this one might be ideal. How's the time limit? Is the wiggle space more generous? Will I need to simply play smart and have back up saves? Did they add a Game+? (That probably sounds dumb but I played alot of Neptunia and Disgaea so I'm use to Nisa Games featuring that)

The time limit isn't too bad for Atelier Ayesha and Atelier Escha and Logy, but yeah it's a good idea to have backup saves just in case. If you are trying to get all of the achievements then the time limit will be very hard, but clearing the game normally is pretty easy with time. I remember back in the PS3 version of Ayesha, I made multiple saves with only a few months of time left. I use a save to get to level 50 and another one to level 50 for synthesis. Atelier Escha and Logy is even easier than Atelier Ayesha with the time limit. However Atelier Shallie has no time limit at all. All the 3 Dusk games have new game+ even before this version.

From what I've seen in the manuals, the time limit is 3 years for the first two games in the Dusk Trilogy and the third has no time limit.
According to the Starter Guide for the Atelier series as a whole, Ayesha's time limit isn't particularly challenging.
Of course, back-up saves are a good idea anyways!
I'm not immediately finding any New Game + info for Ayesha or Escha+Logy, but Shallie has one apparently.

The time limit is pretty lenient (as far as Atelier games go). However in Ayesha its important to note that some content if locked behind completing the story. Completing the story doesnt end the game, so its advised to go through the game focusing on story things first.

Lots of stuff is locked behind story progression as well. Its still possible to run out of time in Ayesha, so keep that in mind that you focus on that first.

In Escha & Logy the time limit is divided in periods where you have to complete requests in each period. For main objectives its super easy to do this, altho for optional objectives you might need to manage your time later on.
