Why there is no AC: Divided Nation on Steam?
Does this game have all content from previous AC: Fight Back and original game?

Divided nation was such a good game with the campaign and unit variety I would pay anywhere from $10 to even $25 to get it on steam at this point

Probably my favorite Civil War game it's so unfortunate, even better than Ultimate General in my opinion. A shame it's quite a lesser known game as well so it's hard to get enough support I suppose to get it released on steam but would buy it in the blink of an eye!

Ultimate general is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, divided nations was going to be an icon and a breakthrough if it went through development instead of this crudely roped together ugly unfinished apparatus, also the mods that were made for these games were amazing, hundreds of battles fought over so many years, good memories. They will never come back.

Would definitely buy it too. I've been looking for Divided Nation for the last 2 years but can't find it. I've played AC a long time, but somehow lost my CD and changed my laptop. Since I don't have a CD slot on my computer, I can't run it. I slowly lost interest in AC and Cossacks, as I discovered Total War.

"A. Soldier" (thanks BTW) tried to share it through Google Drive, but I don't know if that works on Windows 10 yet. I know that some fans have been asking Steam and GSC for a long time now. On GOG too, there is a certain interest. But CDV, the publisher, does not exist anymore (insolvency) and GSC are working on Cossacks 3 and other projects.

I can understand that DN is not currently the top priority there. It frankly looks old, has a lot of bugs and glitches and is not very well known. However, I think that releasing DN, retouched or not, would not need a lot of resources. The modders and the fans could help making it modern.

To be honest, I am usually disappointed when developers release games or suites in a classical RTS series. I am thinking about AoE III, Cossacks 2 or Blitzkrieg 2 and 3, for example. The tend to focus on the graphics or totally change the gameplay but the result is often childish, arcade or Warcraft 3-like. You may agree or not, but I believe AC DN fans don't really care about the graphics, 30 new nations, heroes or a new resource system. They just want to see their 3000 soldiers in aesthetically lines falling and colouring the ground with their different uniforms. They want to (secretly) use the "coloured infantry" at the front line and explore the very interesting variety of units. It is also that the American Civil war does not have its proper RTS game nowadays. We will maybe experience that from Total War, but American Conquest Divided Nation is the Aragorn of this historical era. It must get on the throne !

I would like to know who owns the rights for that game ? CDV or GSC? If it is GSC, knowing their interest in providing tools for modders and fans, they could just release a postWindows XP friendly version and let us correct the imperfections.

Also, nobody has the rights to it since Strategic, the devs of the game, don't exist anymore.

There was an issue with the fps game Blood not being able to be re-released over some licensing issue or something of the sort. Some other company swooped in there recently and managed to get it sorted out and released a updated version which runs much better on modern PC's called Blood Fresh Supply. That's what we need to happen for this game, it's a damn shame it's a hidden gem, had many great intense LAN games in the past.

I emailed GSC Game World about this, and about the game crashing windows 10. They sent my message to their support team and said "...maybe our support team will make a patch, that will fix the problem." I wouldn't get my hopes up but at least they know.

Hi,

I just downloaded your zip, thank you very much for such a contribution. I had a hope I can play it but I can't run it on Win 10. I have tired all compatibility modes and also as an administrator but the game is not running. I can hear something is going on in the background, my fan is working much faster but the screen is black. Have you tried to play it on WIn 10?

/edit/ actually I noticed today that the game is running, I can hear sound of intro movie but everything is still black.
