Also, AC:BF is better in every respect, came out way before HZD, and costs less, too.
The only positive-in-comparison trait of HZD is female protagonist, but it seems that developers decided that all the feminist appeal excuses QA from play-testing the game somehow, so there are a lot of obvious 2k12-ish console bugs everywhere and several examples of level-design laziness (flying grass, disjointed rails, botched textures, etc).
Unfortunately, however, I also have some solid principles, so not only I'll never buy the game, I also would recommend against getting it. If you can ignore the obvious and hidden messages in the game, go for it. Otherwise, I recommend blacklisting the devs and the publisher altogether.
It's not even about the money, in case you wonder. It's about sending a message, and the only way they would understand is when the money dries up.
TL;DR: Only if you have a soft spot for the gameplay, and can endure the misandry along the propaganda in the game. Almost forgot to mention: The face animations might as well not existed and it would have been better overall.
The story is pretty average nothing too crazy and same with the characters, they're there to fill their role and they do it fine without ever going beyond or below expectations.
The gamplay is fairly fun, the whole elemental stuff and weak points work well. The gameplay only becomes a problem when enemies become "bullet sponges". Some challenges here and there. Just think of the ubisoft formula but you brain cant be completely smooth to beat and understand the game. As for ubi, your brain can be the smoothest thing on earth and you still would beat the game.
Visual are top tier. Game looks great and also lets you use up your specs that you paid top dollar for. The art style is great. Probably one of my favorites as a lot of the designs are a mix of form and function. So to any big tech/mech gecks its nice to see "some" thought was put into the creatures and how they work.
My issue is. The game is the perfect standard for what a game should offer. Its good. It looks even better with how saturated the market has become with ♥♥♥♥ releases and broken games. You'd get 3x the value out of this game over any Ubisoft, EA, Xbox title on the market. I would pay full price but it has aged so honestly id say the game is good to pick up any time. AS FOR THE SECOND ONE... the over estimated how much the could ride the magic of the first and they went full ubisoft mode. Dumb everything down and fill it with immersion/mood ruining comedy and smart ass characters comebacks, etc.
Source: I’ve played 70+ hours in the base game with 90%+ completed.
