Once you arrive at Meridian for the first time you should see a group of NPC's having an argument with some guards about being allowed into Meridian, You then walk across the bridge and are then stopped by the gate captain, then Erend arrives and tells them you're free to enter Meridian. What did you do after speaking with the gate captain and Erend? You should have gone with Erend to Olin's house, where you search for clues to find where Olin has gone. That cannot be avoided because the game shifts into a brief cutscene and then you have to follow Erend to Olin's house. After that you should go to the location marked on the map to find Olin. Did you actually follow Erend or did you go off to do something else?

For clarification, what is the name of the main quest that you have in your journal? "Go to Meridian" is the first objective for the quest "The City of the Sun" which is received when you arrive at Daytower and complete "A Seeker at the Gates". For a full walkthrough of "The City of the Sun" check:

I followed Erend and the brief cutscene like u said and the Olin thingy. Yup, did all that. Only to realize that the quest "Goto Meridian" is not triggered.

Let me launch the game again and update you again about your last question.

If the quest isnt updated, you shouldnt be able to do all those things. 5 of the quests you completed afterwards require that quest to be done as well.

What was the last Olin thing you did?

I am now playing Chorus. Need to move on and I also want to complete HZD.

The quests you havent done yet in this game are the most important story ones. The ones with all the big reveals and stuff.

Not sure what went wrong with your game. You didnt use cheatengine or save editing?
Did you try reloading a save to before you entered Meridian?

Ok, so, as I've said, the quest is called "The City of the Sun" and the first objective for that quest is "Go to Meridian". You said earlier that you spoke to the Checkpoint Commander and Erend, then followed Erend. It seems that somehow you've missed doing something and whatever it is that you've missed is stopping the quest progressing as it should.

Where did you enter Meridian? What happens when you make that quest your active quest? It should place a marker on the map to show you exactly where you should go. Make that quest your active quest and then go to the exact point on the map where the quest location marker is placed.

Seeing as you've completed the three quests that Erend gives you ("The Field of the Fallen", "Into the Borderlands" and "The Sun Shall Fall") you must have been to Olin's house and searched there because you have to do that before Erend will ask you to help him find out what happened to his sister, which will then begin "The Field of the Fallen".

Really not sure what else to suggest, other than to make "The City of the Sun" your active quest and go to the exact point on the map where the quest location marker is placed.

Nahhh .. didn't use any cheatengine or save edits.

I don't have a save before I enter meridian. All are current ones.

Its my only quest available. So it will be my active quest.

I walk across the bridge ... look at the bunch of soldiers ... walk right in ... after that, turn left or turn right ... the quest does not trigger. I stand below the quest marker ... go downstairs and have my meals ... come back, the quest still does not trigger.

How do I contact guerilla games perhaps ? I have been emailing community@guerrila games, sent them more than 10 emails, no response. I guess the only way is for guerilla games to go into my save file and trigger the quest.

The "Go to Meridian" part is NOT a separate quest, it's just the first step in completing "The City of the Sun" which IS the quest. That step should auto-complete as you cross the bridge into Meridian, which will then update the quest to the next step, which is "Talk to the Checkpoint Commander" which you say you did! If you did in fact do that, and then spoke with Erend when he arrived and then followed him to Olin's house etc etc then it seems that either the quest has somehow messed up or something rather weird has happened.

As for how to contact Guerrilla Games for support on this, I'm not sure, I can't find anything about game support on their own website and the only support links I can find are on the official Playstation Horizon website:
https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/horizon/
Bear in mind that Guerrilla Games are currently getting ready for the release of Horizon II Forbidden West in a couple weeks, so they may be a little busy right now.

After reviewing everything you've been saying, it really looks like that you're experiencing a very odd glitch that is keeping that particular quest stuck in the "active" state, and as such you're unlikely to get much official tech support from Guerrilla Games. Specifically, if you have no idea how this happened, and since this appears to be a very rare glitch, it's unlikely that Guerrilla Games will know how to reproduce that glitch and fix things. At most, you'll probably be told to just restart the game and see if it happens again, or load an earlier save (which apparently you don't have). Do you expect them to troubleshoot your game from afar and then custom-program a small patch just for you, when it's far easier for them to tell you to just start a new playthrough and see if it happens again? A thought - do you have any old autosaves you can load from an earlier point?

However, based on your previous posts, it also appears that this glitch isn't actively harming your main story quest progression due to the fact that you've completed several main story missions that take place after you first enter Meridian. If you can't seem to find any more main story quests, it's likely that you haven't spoken to the correct person to trigger the next quest or found the next quest point - for example, sometimes you need to talk to Erend or the Sun King to trigger a quest, or perhaps you need to visit a particular location you haven't seen yet.

Now, it's also possible that your next triggering quest isn't properly displaying the starting location/conditions, which understandably makes it difficult to figure out what to do next - for example, if the next quest starts with "go to certain location" or "talk with so-and-so" but that doesn't actually appear on your map. To test if this is what is happening, try going to the next main story quest starting point and seeing if anything triggers (based on your quest list, it appears you next need to go to Maker's End). If, despite going to the location, nothing happens, and nothing appears on your map (remember to have quest markers turned "on" in your legend), then what you're experiencing is a more severe issue than what you've described. In this case, it's all but guaranteed that something is seriously broken in your current playthrough, and you'll likely have to restart the whole thing.

One final thought - have you recently verified the integrity of your gamefiles through Steam? It's possible that something is corrupted, making things not work properly. You may have to deliberately delete a few files from the local HZD Steam folder to force a clean reinstall of certain files via verifying the integrity of your gamefiles (FYI this methods is far faster than re-downloading the entire game).

I dunno ... but i was thinking if they could 'look' into my save game and make the savegame file complete the "goto meridian' quest so that I can be on my way to the next quest marker ?

Yeah, I'm not sure that they're going to access your PC via Remote Desktop to edit your files. That sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. You'd basically need to give Admin access to someone so they can remotely access your PC files and mess with things from their end, which isn't exactly a service game companies are known for. Usually, you send them an error report log, they analyze it to see what went wrong and where, and then they either issue a patch or say "it's a one-off that we can't be bothered to fix/can't fix it easily because it'll break something else, just restart the game."

If this was a game like Skyrim, you could simply open up the in-game console and input the appropriate command to force the game to recognize that the quest is completed. But this was built differently, and not really designed to have individual user accessible interfaces.

Often they ask for a save file because you know uploading files is a thing in this millenium.

Oh nooo ... Well, if I run out of games to play, I will go back to re-start the game again. Currently I still have Chorus and Deathloop. Upcoming will be the Ascent.

That was what I was thinking too. They could edit my savefile and manually trigger the Goto meridian, perhaps. Hopefully. "cross my fingers*

I have this exact problem right now. No one found a solution?
Nevitar 3. okt. 2022 kl. 4:49
I too have this problem.
Have tried most things I can think of but "Go to Meridian" just wont trigger, and still I did several of the subsequent quests.
Dying, Loading, Portaling, Checking file integrity.
Fast travel to Meridian is not allowed, assuming since I have "not unlocked" Meridian yet...

I am on a new game+ UH.
Might be that the game did not like that we went to Meridian before finishing one of the other main quest lines?
The questline I still had to do and last finished was Revenge of the Nora, did you guys finish that before or after trying to go to Meridian?

Interestingly on "The Sun Shall Fall" I also have a red X on "Examine the Bomb" but I still finished the quest..

Finished main quests:
Revenge of the Nora
The Sun Shall Fall
Into the Borderlands
The Field of the Fallen
The War-Chief's Trail
A Seeker at the Gates
The Womb of the Mountain
The Proving
Mother's Heart
The Point Of The Spear
