no one said otherwise. why are you appealing solely to realism and averageness? art should be about making idealized and exceptionally beautiful creations too. im not saying video games themselves are art but their assets definitely can and should be if possible. this game is about fighting giant robot dinosaurs in a world that looks alien, so why should the people in it have to look so average and realistic? huge missed opportunity imo
If anything that hair would probably get in the way and she would realistically have it cut shorter or braided back and out of the way.
you're comparing concept art that was going for a cartoonish look to an image that is aiming for real-life depiction of a human. Comparing the two is idiotic.
its not hypocritical, i concede that a 3d model looks "better" in a sense because its more detailed and realistic, but using my imagination i can tell that it could have been even better than that if it was based off the concept art
and theres nothing stopping them from making a 3d render that looks more like the concept art. even using scans of a real person doesnt stop them. it didnt stop the makers in RE2 remake from changing claire redfield to make her look more feminine than the girl she was based on. which reminds me how unfortunately it seems the only games made with extremely attractive and idealized feminine forms anymore are made in places like japan now
Not to mention they tell someone in the thread they can't compare a 3D render they posted to a 2D drawing.
Ah! By realistic I mean realistic proportions. I mean, I love Monster Hunter, a game about some dudes and gals running around with 4 meter (13 foot) long weapons while swinging them as if they were a baseball bat
HAWP stands for Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin? It's the series starring Ashley Burch, the voice acress for Aloy.
She also did the voice of Tiny Tina in the Borderlands series.

But HAWP is still some of her best comedy.
comparing the two isnt idiotic. im criticizing their choice to forgo a highly stylized and interesting looking character for boring realism
realistically she wouldnt be fighting giant robot dinosaurs 😂
I think that the one in the game is highly stylized and interesting looking.
But that is the issue with art, it is always subjective and in the eye of the beholder.
And? The character in the drawing is still concept art and never intended to be in the game.

Don't mind me, just a Global Moderator passing by.
why not? if EA forgoes realism to put women as soldiers in a world war 2 game, why cant we have runway models in games about fighting robot dinosaurs?
Idk I guess that's not how they wanted to make that character.
