This is a sequel to the game, Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen (Mask of Deception), but the Itsuwari no Kamen (The False Faces) anime that was based on that game changed cut out a lot of content, including the final scene. If you're interested in it, I would still recommend playing Mask of Deception first, because otherwise you're going to be confused or feel like you're missing a lot in Mask of Truth.

anime is a crappy adaptation which lack the peak of the game, esp toward the end of the game since anime change almost everything. You won't see a heart breaking moment, emotional moment of characters. I'd recommend you play the game till the end first.
