Onslaught Mechanic
Currently working on my Feral character.
I notice there's not much lower max for Melee characters though I might be wrong.

Buffs:
Furious Legendary mod +9 +5% damage per stack
Guerilla Expert +3 +1% reload speed per stack
Guerilla Master +5 +5% ranged damage to close enemies per stack
Gunslinger Expert +3 +1% ranged weak spot damage per stack
Gunslinger Master +10 Gain stacks over time, spend them on attacks
Pounder (4Star) mod +10 Gain stacks over time, spend them on attacks
Total: 40

Melee:
Furious Legendary mod +9 +5% damage per stack
Gunslinger Master +10 Gain stacks over time, spend them on attacks
Pounder (4Star) mod +10 Gain stacks over time, spend them on attacks
Total: 29

Top would be ranged max at 40 right??
Bottom puts melee maxes stacks at 29 OR are Furious and Pounder the only applicable ones for a Melee weapon??

Pounder's is melee only.
Max potential ranged stacks is 30.
Max potential melee stacks is 29.
Furious is both melee and ranged, but not required to gain onslaught stacks.

For ranged, you'd want a furious weapon and the +stack perks.
For melee, you'd want a furious weapon with the Pounder's 4 star mod.

Gunslinger master, aka reverse onslaught, aka lose stacks per hit but gain them each second, is only really good on slower fire rate or swing speed weapons... and weapons that only hit once. If you have an explosive mod on a sniper rifle, you will lose two stacks per shot; one for the projectile and one for the explosive effect.

You wanting to be a feral ghoul, you'd want the furious and pounder's mod on your weapon. If you're using an auto-axe, don't use Gunslinger Master. It will drain your stacks instantly.

The sad thing is onslaught didn't do anything to help 1h melee.

Noted.
I did not know what about the Explosive effect.
Right now, this Feral is what I'm toying with as I don't like melee and prefer ranged builds in game.
I'm giving this one some time before I switch back to ranged.
