Fast Travel...
...spoils the game in my opinion. I think an org that all walked around over-encumbered and stuck together, carrying everything on their backs, would have a blast. They could be called The Over-encumbered or Snails or something...

Yes I realize that lol. And there are many times when I do just that. I was talking about a group of people doing it together though. And teamplay takes some convincing in this game. That would force everybody to work together as a team.

The problem with not using Fast Travel, is that unless you happen to be nearby when it is triggered, you have no way to get to any of the public events. Heck, sometimes even with Fast Travel, Encryptid or Scorched Earth are completed before I can stash my stuff, hop into my power armor, and fast travel.
No fast travel will result in many more AFK players. Already seen two at Mothman Equinnox yesterday.

And then there'll be the new Travel Agent perk card, testing on the PTS.

The proposed new version will allow fast travel while encumbered (over encumbered is bad grammar and means nothing) for extra caps cost.

Next there'll be 'mule' fatties wandering around everywhere... (until they stuff up and go over the maximum carry weight limit).

vertibird pads located a strategic points on the map would work but this game so casual that they will never make that happen.

Sir you have clearly never done fasnaacht day before. You can have half a sever afk in those things just for a few shiny masks.

You have a good sense of humor. I actually despise Fasnacht and refuse to buy from vendors with tons of masks for sale....because we know how they got them.

Won't work in USA, almost 2/3 of the people are over weight now. We out number the skinny smooth skins and would never want to change "The Old Ways". You drop-we haul. Picken' and a grinnin' all the way to the Train Vendor Bot.
There is the PLA Motherload, that has a few exits, that you find, doing the Settlers Foundation Quests. It has 4 exits in the Savage Divide, one In The Mire, toward the new Ghoul added areas.

I can't wait for fast travel to be an option again. Then I can make it to the Scorchbeast Queen, and other events that, I'm missing plans for. I don't have to walk to, all my nuke events, that I launch. I have a bunch of key cards to use.

And not have to worry about, no players going, because nobody wanted to start the event or join it.

Travel on Team Player on Death, is not reliable, and can get you kicked from the server, because it seems to remove you from your team.

It will be nice to have the option to fast travel again, I would have been nice to have a bicycle to "sprint speed" To get to events, but Fast Travel works.

As to Weight, Nuke cards add, up. Figuring out Aid. Once you learn all the plans, and where to get the crafting items, and how to craft with "Super-duper" & "Chemist" the aid crafting to the maximum amount. At least, with fast travel, cut that weight down, easier to get supplies, but over production, .

I have been walking, for the past 4 years, I miss fast travel. :cozybethesda:
