Again, got a bunch of mods to sell (some of those good 1*, as well as quite a few 4* too and more), but no knowledge of what price to put up in my vendor.
What are your goals as a merchant?
Do you want to make caps?
Do you just want people to visit your camp?
Do you feel guilty you have cool stuff going to waste?
Like Anti-Armor, all VATS related mod boxes, 90% less weight for weapons, quad, etc ...
For armors and PAs, 25% less poison is popular for sure ... .
My bets : 5k caps and up ... !!!
So I'd rather know what's the general price on this or that mod - such as having a price-check. To which reddit - as I described in the main post - didn't yield satisfying results.
Well your first mistake was reddit lol. Second mistake is assuming prices are stable enough to just jot down on paper like this was a sports card catalogue. I can't just tell you the perfect price for everything.
Now your first priority should be exposure. No body's going to buy anything if you're not logged in. That means also considering you're burning buffs and resources while you sit around waiting for customers.
Get your mod count up on the vendor even if they're trash mods and you'll attract people faster. Just don't bait them with non-legendary mods that's tacky.
Next join groups and "casually" drop the hint "hey guys if anyone needs anything from my vendor I've only got a few minutes" and that usually lands a few on the hook.
Then understand they aren't always carrying around 40k... and usually 10k is the most someone has unless they're a serious player. Price accordingly to make sure the customer always leaves with something even if its not mod related. They want to hear the cha-ching as much as you do. Give them a reason.
Remember reputation is everything. If you have a reputation for low prices you'll also have a reputation for not having anything good because people will clean you out. I prefer a reputation for having premium goods at premium prices. It has worked quite well for me.
unyielding + cap collector = infinite caps pretty easily
Raids + just doing raids = infinite caps stupid easily
caps were never really a good store of value and they got devalued pretty hard
leaders are uber duped in the literal tens of trillions and thus really also kinda garbage
I've got 400+ 1* to 3* mods to trade, and another 80 of the 4* mods (Plus I can craft some 4*s)
they really don't have much value anymore either
Most of what you said is known to me... I'm not a new player. I just don't know the prices on items. Hence why my question about "price check", that's all.
I'm very much aware that raids are good. I literally finished lvling up Season to 100 today via raiding in just a handful of days. For that exact same reason my stash is overfilled with stuff right now - including good mods that I need to sell. I can't keep on raiding with a full stash AND full inventory.
So it's not about getting caps in the end, but rather... freeing up the stash WHILE ALSO getting caps for it. Plus... Providing others with these good mods too. Win-win for everyone across the board, ya know?
Sure, I can just drop excess stuff here and there, true. But... I'd rather not. I've already did that before with both the more useless mods and resources. Yesterday. But... Today, my stash is once again full (as I'm not an F1st subscriber).
You will free some space in the stash box and will have a month to make reserves (ammo and scap items) ... .

Put up some stuff... Prices varying from 500 to 15000. Without overdoing on the super popular/high demand and thus pricey ones at first, of course. Wouldn't wanna instantly go to 40k again >.>
Well I still need a few reflective mods and another rejuve ones if you have any to offload
