Chainsaw and Flamer mods.
I got some mods for my chainsaw(s) at station vendors (long head or double chain, flames).

i'm more puzzled with Flamers : i got a napalm tank, can't remember how, and i wonder if i will get over mods while scrapping Flamers that show no particular assets.

So, how is it exactly to get mods for those weapons ?

Believe both work on the scrapping feature, Scrapping gives a small chance to learn mods. But you might want to double-check wiki first.

I've found mods for all of the learnable chainsaw & flamer mods in Watoga, so you can scrap or buy for either of those.

Better chance to learn the mods scraping the old level 20 chainsaws you can find in the wild. there are several of them out there. Check on Google to see where. I have never gotten a plan from the one at the Blue Devil event at the cabins. I farmed the low level ones for about 2 months and 8 of my players learned the flamer, huge tank, and dual bars.

Thanks for the tips

I always assume any weapon you can find you can scrap. Flamers are more common than chainsaws, which I believe are limited in spawns (including expeditions).

Tools aka Chainsaws and Power Drills are rare. Their mods... not so much. I have come across several for both. All it takes is exploring.

Chainsaw far as i can remember you can only get dual bar and bow bar from scrapping. Flamer and long bar must be bought as box mods. Dual bar and flamer and the ones to go for imo.

For flamer all mods can be learnt from scrapping.

Look at the weapon at a workbench. Hit toggle unlockable. Scroll over the plans and they'll tell you how they are obtained, with scrap or plan.

Chainsaws only spawn in a few select special locations. And for me they spawn as level 50, because I am way over that. I corrected the wiki a not too long back with latest information.

You only need the flamer & dual bar mods. The rest are inferior.

Chainsaw only has longbar, duelbar, and flamer. Longbar isn't very good compared to duel.

well, a strange issue tonight : i scrapped 2 chainsaws, got longbar and dualbar, but when i wanted to upgrade my own one, the longbar mod could not be found...not in inventory, not in the stash, not on the ground...

Edit : with another char who had stocks of weapons, i just scrapped 4 chainsaws and 1 flamer to "get" only one Mod. problem is that this Mod just disappeared as well as for my previous happening :(

at least, i don't care as i wanted to get the dual blade, too bad the flames are only visible on one blade.

my concern now is that is does not have vampire, but other stats are kinda cool (faster and reduces action points)

Well, according to some Youtubers, you need to spawn not too close to the chainsaw spawning point to get it at a level inferior to yours. i won't give the full explanation here :p
