Mirelurk-Krabben/Mirelurk-Craps

I'm supposed to photograph mirelurk crabs for the Boy Scout exam. Where can I find them?
I don't remember seeing them here in the game before. Aren't those the little critters (babies) that come out of the Mirelurk Queen and bug you when you fight them in Fallout 4?

I'm not sure if I translated the word correctly. In German they write: "Mirelurk Krabben".

Or do they just mean a mirelurk?

There is a wiki with that kind of information. Here is what it says:

Five softshell mirelurks can be found at New River Gorge Resort.
About six softshell mirelurk on the stream west of Summersville.
Mirelurks can be found in Grafton Lake and around Pioneer Scout camp, especially during the Swarm of Suitors event.
Ohio River Adventures, along the river.
Lake Reynolds.
Can reliably find several variants at Spruce Knob Lake.

It doesn't mention the mirelurks that spawn at Spruce Knob Lake, the cranberry lakes in Cranberry Bog, the quarry, or Cranberry Glade.

If you need hatchlings, interact with the eggs on the shore near Ohio River Adventures.

Probably just a "Mirelurk".... not the babies or a King.

The wiki talks about "mirelurks", not "mirelurk crabs". In the game, they are all referred to. A "Mirelurk crab" was not there until now.

Lost in translation.

I was supposed to collect the eggs the other day for daily quest. But there was a bug. Every single one just broke and you couldn't interact with them any further. Maybe they have fixed that by now. I haven't been back there since.

This means someone got there before you and collected up the eggs and killed the crablings. It sucks, but you need to hop servers at that point.

Ah ok. I'll go and have a look later. I thought it was a bug because the eggs looked intact when I went to collect them.

Going off the wiki I think it just means regular Mirelurks.

There are seperate tasks for Hunters, Kings and Queens making the Crab option possibly the ones you see everywhere.

I just take pictures of every mirelurk I come across....

it is untypical that the designation is so imprecise.

Yeah, I'm just loving these new descriptions they're sticking in here and there. Took me 4 1/2 years to get used to the old ones.

Next they'll say to kill a bat. Time to take out another scorchbeast.

For the scout challenges where you have to take photos, a good way to fullfill many challenges is to take photos after a "ScorchBeast Queen" event. Even if they are dead, just wandering around and check the upper right when you take photos.

Kill something specific, collect that one thing and fix the red one. ^^
