When you get to the limit, go find something to buy. Either a plan or recipe. Or junk you might need.
you can sell items to vendors at 40k caps
they give you a brief warning message that you won't get anything, and the vendor cap supply is lowered as if they had given you caps
Same issue with gold. If you buy all the plans available with gold, where is the incentive to keep buying gold or play in events to get treasury notes.
I find it very limiting.
Want a solution? just make something to sink our caps and at the same improve our toons:
