Enemies really overpower (public events)
Had a long break from fallout, back recently. I use proper bloodied/snake build with all set of unyielding plus decent riffle, correct mutations and with full max out adrenaline can't kill enemies (or my time to kill is thru the roof) in public events. In normal roaming my set is ok but the difficulty on public events or daily operations my set is useless. Don't really understand what Bethesda doing...
Last time when they change how damage is calculated game lost massive amounts of players, now with this I'm not surprise that I see mostly empty worlds...
I don't know how this things are calculated with full max-out legendary perks but if you are in between (like level 100-500) - good luck... I'm currently at 115 and for my level game have bad balance.

You're not off to a good start coming back after a long break (who knows how long because you're not specific) and blaming an apathetic company for how you choose to play.

Nah dude, I melt enemies in any situation. You've been gone for eight years, don't give specifics as to what armor/weapons you're using or what perk cards you're using. The meta has changed a lot.

You just want to complain to complain.

Game has the same amount of players as 2 years ago. Just in a bit of a lul due to end of season.

Some events have had updates on enemies. Specifically Swarm of Suitors and Heart of the Swamp. They have extra toughness and the boss variant has about 99% Damage reduction or something stupid. Also the Supermutants at the Eviction Notice event are much tougher than your average Joe super mutant. They were all made that way because let's be honest most players are OP and oneshot everything. So you got to bring your A-game to these events or you're not going to be doing much.

You should be looking at average players not peak players. Last time it was over 10K was 3 years ago. after that it's pretty much steady at 8-9K. Granted there was a dip at around the time Bethesda.net closed down and the playerbase has declined a bit for sure, but it's also decently stable.

Anyway, not here to argue about misinterpretation of statistics. I told you about the enemies in the events I mentioned. Gotta build better to deal with those.

OP I ran into your situation awhile ago. I used to roll with Aristocratic Fixer and SS Armor, with all the Commando Perk cards. It will handle many situations, but in some events such as Eviction Notice, Test Your Metal, Colossal Problem, and Moonshine Jamboree, was too weak for many of the enemies.

I changed to Power Armor, using either Gatling Plasma or Chainsaw. Changed Perks of course, and it made a huge difference. Much more survivable, and finish off the enemies much faster. So you may want to change your setup for these tougher events.

It was actually over 10k to 12k the beginning of this season and once or twice i saw 13k.

But yes average daily is up to 10k when season is going.

Also forgot to mention thar do u think all 8 to 10k players are playing for 8 hours??? Hmmm think not
People play few hours or less to get their scores and events and log off so those new 8k on average,, ?

Scoreboards been over for many so theyre taking breaks and playing other games.
Edit
Oh for overpowering enemies
With better build and leveled up perks plus evading lol they cant get ya. 😄
