Some servers are a bit too busy, distant, bad or old and will have more lag. Sometimes its better to jump to another.
If its too much of an issue, get a refund. Can't take out the latency out of a multiplayer experience no matter what. even if f76 tries to alleviate parts of it. You can never have a lag free experience with a large area and a lot of players. Especially if its going to be running for hours on end.
Lately, there has been a glitch in The Matrix. Deja Vu. The lag is so bad that I have to do things twice just as Sepherix stated before.
Edit: also had a server disconnect today during an Enclave event. I haven't had that happen for many weeks. On connection to another server, I couldn't insert a fusion core into any of my PA- the animation showed a core inserted which immediately became empty. I tried this several times with the same result. Finally, I TRANSFERRED a fusion core into the PA (bypassed animation) and it worked.
When I came back to the game much later, the new server did not have any problems with the fusion core animation. I also found that if I scrapped the new B.O.B cooking station, my menu screens on the PIP boy and scrap box did not lag. The B.O.B. cooking station is a resource hog.
