Storage
I'm a new player and I am carrying so much stuff, I walk 10 sec then have to rest. In the camp that I created, if I also create something for storage, will this be private or will others be able to take my stuff?

You only get a set amount of storage. You can't create "stuff that gives you more storage". Only solution is to throw stuff away or buy Fallout 1st monthly for unlimited scrapbox and ammobox.

The only storage item you get is the stash, which hold 1200 weight. While everyone can use any stash box, the contents are locked to that particular player. So if you look in the stash box, you only see your stuff. Someone else looks in the same box they see their stuff and not yours.

If you pay for Fallout 1st, your also get a junk box (which holds unlimited junk) and an ammo box (which holds unlimited ammo).

At every train station, Red Rocket, The Overseers Camp, every player camp you will find "your stash". That is exactly what it is. It is a container that when interacted with, allows a player to store weapons, armor, ammo, junk, etc. Cool thing is when you look in the stash box, you see your stuff. When I look in the same stash box, I see my stuff.

At frequent opportunities, you should go to a location that has a crafting bench, scrap all of the junk that you are carrying down to it's components. They weigh a lot less then. You should also scrap any unused weapons or armor. Doing so will give you some junk, and also the possibility of learning some mods.

You do not want to carry too much excess junk in your inventory, because when you die, you drop everything in the junk tab. So you really want to move it over to the stash where it is safe.

In your camp, you can build multiple stash boxes. But, they are all windows into the same stash. So you cannot give yourself more than 1200 capacity total.

As you appear to be encumbered. You want to do the following:

1) Go to the Morgantown Airport. Inside you will find the plans to craft a small backpack. It holds up to 30 pounds of stuff when you are level 50. At every train station there are posters you can activate that will give you the Pioneer Scout quest line. Finishing that quest will allow you to craft a backpack that can hold up to 60 pounds when you are level 50. Mods can make give more carry capacity or reduce the weight of certain items when you carry them.

2) Look at what you are carrying. Don't carry a bunch of weapons you are not using. Don't carry a bunch of armor you aren't wearing. If you've outgrown and replaced it, scrap it. There is little room for sentimentality in the stash/inventory minigame.

3) On the weapons tab look at how many grenades you are carrying. If you aren't using them, sell them to the vendors. In the ammo tab, look at what you have and what you use. When you get higher level, you can rank up the Bandolier perk that reduces ammo weight by 90%. This will allow you to carry tens of thousands of rounds of ammo with very little weight at all. Batteries Included does the same thing with Fusion Cores.

4) Mininukes, Missiles, 40mm Grenade rounds weigh a LOT. If you aren't using them. Ditch them.

5) Look at your food tab. Don't carry more than you can use. Nobody needs 50 purified water. But you can sell it for caps.

6) Look at your Aid tab. If you've got more chems than you go through in a couple days playtime. Reduce that level. You can sell them for caps.

7) Make sure you are scrapping everything that you don't need to keep in it's original state. It will weigh a LOT less.

To add just a little to what BizarreMan said above:

if you want to try to earn caps just a little bit faster:

some kinds of junk, when you scrap it cant be sold to venders, for example:

you can not sell the base scrap 'bone' to vendors, but you can sell a 'skull, leg bones, arm bones, etc (which if you scrap those objects you just get the base 'bone' component that cant be sold)'

So if you have a ton of junk on you and can make it to a nearby train station, then you could sell a bit more junk for a bit more caps

You can get 1200lbs of storage in your camp without buying a 1st Membership

And you can also spec your character and gear your character to be able to carry more, some gear can even reduce the weight of things like ammo, chems, or guns.

My current character I usually have about 8-10 heavy guns, through how my character is built each heavy gun weighs a few pounds or less. I carry thousands of rounds for each gun. And have around 400lb carry weight in total.

Thank you all for the help...I didn't know how the stash works. Now I just need to crawl back to camp (or move it to me) and use the stash box. I can't wait to be able to run again!

So there's Stash Boxes that can access your camp stash all over the place. Those Railroad stations all have a place where you can trade your legendary gear for tokens and they have a stashbox and usually some type of crafting station. It's also a good idea to check around the station for posters for interesting quests-lines.

Besides railroad stations you can find stashes in Red Rock gas stations usually.

Certain events like Eviction Notice have stashes near the event.

And finally you can use other players camp stashes to access your stash.

With travel weight if you get access to a crafting table you can scrap all your junk that will lower your carryweight. And you can also drink various types of alcohol or use buffout to increase your strength temporarily and thus increase your carrying weight.

And while you are there, might as well check all the containers. Players sometimes use those to dump things they no longer want. You can sometimes find some nice stuff.

Since you are a free player I highly suggest you bundle your stuff into bulk at a tinker table. Tons of plastic use but it will save so much space.

Be sure to upgrade your backpack as you go. You can craft em .

For the love of god don't loot every item you see, you will go insane. Actually full blown nuts by charlston.

You do have 2 camps you can use, so you dont have to move your main camp if you find a spot you like and you end up building a nice looking base.

You can activate your second camp and just put it where you are, and then build just your shelter in that camp (or you could build the stash box and crafting tables),

but its easier to just build a stash and all crafting tables in the shelter and then only build the shelter when you move your secondary camp somewhere, then you just jump into the shelter and have everything ready to use

Bulking junk is pointless as it doesn't actually reduce weight of junk except for lead and aluminium. Everything else weighs the exact same bulked or loose. Unless something has changed recently this is now it has been ever since launch AFAIK.

It will look like your weight is slightly going down as you are consuming plastic that you cannot get back as you do the bulking.

OP, do not bulk your junk as it will only waste the plastic you have. Only bulk those 2 items i mentioned if you want to store them in the stash and also for other junk only if you want to sell excess junk to the vendor bots for daily caps. Otherwise never bulk.

Putting power armor pieces in the shell will only weigh 10 lbs instead of 10-14 each. Do you have a shelter? You get half back when you scrape. Go to your shelter that has a separate budget, and build a bunch of steel posts, as example. Storage? Gunpowder and spoiled stuff. If you do Moonshine Madness, make gulper slurry to get credit xp, then drop that 20+ lbs. Mutated packs and Mole Miner pails add up weight. Do event, have fun, scrap junk, repair armor and weapons, drop or sell junk, repeat.
