How to change between first and third person on PC

I've been playing for a couple days and cannot find anything anywhere on how to switch between the two.

If you are using a controller, it's the same button that you use to enter build mode at your camp. Just single press it for swap view. Hold for build mode. If you look in Settings\Controls while in the game. It's the 7th item down. Toggle POV/Workshop

Side note but i really wish for mainly the heavy gun animations and default gun position used the 3rd person data for the 1st person view. Really hate the way that most of the heavy guns are held up in front of your face blocking so much of your screen, while the 3rd person ones are not.

I just got the game and tried all of the suggestions and I still can't get into 3' person

I recall it took me a while to work it out. i was pressing the required button rather than just giving it a quick tap. In my case it's mapped to the 'del' button because I have a lot of my controls remapped.
Perhaps tap every button and see if one works.

When I restarted the game last night, it was in 3' person.

Some people use 3rd person due to motion sickness. For this game it's also a way to exploit some glitches.

1st and 3rd use different animations and can result in things like faster reloading, higher fire rate, sprinting with auto melee etc. Some have been patched.

I can't play 1'st person, it gives me motion sickness ever since I played Wolfenstein back in the mid 90's and I had never suffer from motion sickness before, Unfortunately that mean, there are some games I can't play because of it.
