A power armor chassis only has a weight of 10, regardless of the armor plates on it. So they don't really take up all that much space. Also, paying for Fallout 1st gives you a scrap box with unlimited storage, which is likely what most of the space in your stash is being used for. At least it was in my case. You also get an ammo cabinet with unlimited storage.
Personally, I don't bother keeping more than 2 suits - one combat, one excavator. Its actually less weight keeping a whole second suit for the excavator parts that it is just carrying the 2 excavator arms to switch out when mining.
Renaming it is a must. I do a slightly different naming convention though. I use PA-Type. So all PA sorts together.
The CAMP budget doesn't permit much in the way of displays so your collection is either getting dusty in a box or out getting rusty in the rain..
That's a good question, because I have seen camps with at least six PAs on display.
I wasn't, but then I don't care about how my CAMP looks in the first place.
The OP didn't say that he was displaying them. Just collecting them. If they were being displayed, you could visually determine what parts the chassis had, and wouldn't need to name them. And he has to "go to get them out", so they aren't out on display.
