Way to change fusion cores IN power armour?
I noticed that when a fusion core gets depleted in my power armour, that it gets deleted and the empty shell does not get put into my inventory. Do I ALWAYS have to get out of my armour to switch before a core runs out? I am trying to save my cores so I can recharge them at my charging station.

empty cores disappear.

you shouldnt have to get out of your armor, it should just automatically start using the next core.

(IMO) the recharger is fairly useless, you can much more easily just learn the locations and what to do, and then run around and find probably 10 or more cores... for the same time it would take to recharge the 4 cores you can only recharge at one time

Yeah that's what I thought I'd be doing, it's just weird because when you use the Gatling Laser the empty cores get put into your inventory. And I'd thought it'd be the same with power armour but I guess not. Thanks nevertheless though!

If you use power armor most of the time get Electric Absorption legendary perk as soon as you can, you don't really need to worry about fusion cores after that. With EA-perk any enemy energy attack has a chance to recharge your core.

There have been several times I've had cores at 0 in my inventory - so dunno - no idea how I got them since most of the time the PA eats them up. When you need some, just grab one of the power plant workshops, and churn them out. I've had to toss soooo many on the ground to free up weight.

Unless they have changed things, that shouldn't be happening either. Empty cores should disappear, regardless of how they got depleted (power armor or gatling laser).

that was a old bug, similar to plasma cores in your inventory when you try to reload pgatlings

Deploy your Power Armor, then look at the pieces, then take the core out if it's almost empty.

If you have long arms just give yourself a reach around and take out old and insert new. I have short Mole arms and no thumbs so I can't try this.

Since i'm trying to keep my cores to recharge them while doing thing, it would be cool to be able to change Fusion Core while being in Power Armor, or having the option to keep depleted ones, but we can't :steamsad:

And for those saying that the Fusion Core recharger is useless, it's not, at least for lazy people that tends to do things while having the core being charged, or the ones recharging the core partially used and taking the charged ones

The legendary perk electric absorption charges cores while you use them from enemy energy attacks (basically robots)

Hey, wanna say thanks to you all! It is just such a strange thing when a Gatling Lasers gives you your empty cores, when power armour don't in this game. But I'll use all of your advice and give that electric absorption legendary perk a shot when I can!

No gatling lasers will have cores vanish after they are empty as well. Works the same way.

What you are likely seeing is many partially depleted cores due to the bugs that gatling lasers have where they rarely ever finish firing the entire core and will stop and reload all the time.

With the electric absorption perk you can just go stand in front of protectrons or other robots and watch your core recharge as they shoot you.
