i saw some text chat mod from nexus... is it okay to mod an online game? is it safe to install this mod for online FO76? no cheating banning? Kynareth save us

Nope. Do so at your own risk. Bethesda will not care, until they do care. Modifying any game files is a violation of the EULA.

In Game you learn to speak Emoticon. Otherwise you have to use an external option, Discord, Steam Chat or whatever. The Voice options also are horrid in game which is why no one even talks about that.

I have had the text chat mod before, but I don't usually use it most of the people speaking on there won't be in your server, it'll just be other people with the mod installed who are most likely on other servers, I've used the better inventory mod, the perk loader manager and also rat monkeys string files for sorting, never had a warning, never been banned, had the game since day 1.

You want a text chat mod that noone will see or able to respond without mod?

You are wasting your time, either move to discord or ignore it... anyways 99% times there is no point.

You missed the point of what was said, as the actual answer.

It's against the EULA. Bethesda won't care, until they do care.

You're free to take the risk, it's your game. That also means you bare the burden of responsibility and consequence should Bethesda decide "feeling cute today, might ban all the mod users".

If it happens, don't come crying or screeching here or on the reddit about it. The only answer you'll end up getting is "your fault" or "told you so".

this is perfect, is like how much trust do you WANT to just give bethesda...... what a rabbit hole for some.

I mean I would just not play the game any more, it's one of many that I have, I wouldn't risk using any of the cheaty mods, like the lock picking mod that shows you where the weakspot is, or any mod that could be considered cheating. the mods I use are purely to make the inventory easier to use, tab weights, more sorting options and the strings just add [chem] or [food] and the like to items to make them sort better in the inventory. the perk loader just lets you save builds so you can switch builds with one click this does require SFE which is a .dll, if they wanted to ban they could have banned me years ago when they were banning people for exploiting and entering the dev room, every time I come back and play some 76 I update SFE and the mods I use and keep playing. I don't consider them 'cheaty' in the sense that they somehow exploit the game. they just add some functionality.

then it can stay there, ill let you know when i've been banned. I never entered the dev room or took advantage of any exploits in the game, my main is still only level 155. and I did play since lauch day, just on and off, maybe a few times a year.
