Making screens legible?
Is there a trick to being able to actually read what's on the computer screens for hacking and the whatnot?

It doesn't zoom in at all and I'm just here squinting at the PC monitor to try to read what is on the in-game screens. Seems unlikely this isn't a setting somewhere.

what resolution? theres also a change interface button that makes it seethrough, but id need to know what s causing it first. most of the time its kinda readable, except you dont need to read much.
the trick is mousing over the signhs and when two or an entire section that isnt a word gets marked its a "hack".
click it and you either get one dud removed or your tries reset.
combined with more hacking levels youll never fail again if you let your mouse wander over the entire text. its taking so long that most ppl stopped hacking for fun and profit and just grind public events

Tip:
Only go for the duds/reset when you're at the last guess.

hmm, with enough hacker perks he could combine it for speedrunning

I have it running at 1280x720 (fullscreen) and I'm running the game with a controller.

Anyway, it's not that the text isn't real text or displaying odd, it's that it displays so tiny that it's hard to read, since it doesn't zoom in on the in-game terminal's screen when I engage with that object.

Whenever that happens to me, maybe 3% of the time, I just exit the terminal, move slightly, and re-engage it. That usually fixes it for me.

Are you 1st person or 3rd person view when you access the terminal? Might be worth trying different view. Some stuff like the ammo exchange machine can get a small text if you access from further away.

I'll try that, thanks.

Another good one to test, thanks.

Here, this is what I'm dealing with.

Exiting the terminal and coming back doesn't solve it.

I forgot to try the 1st/3rd person switch approach, will test next time.

I got same problem. No fix found but need to search more. In display settings i only found a setting that says on/off large text. It's set to on. I guess I should change it back to off to see if it changes. 🤔🤷‍♂️Very hard to read. Near impossible. Is important for some data research etc.

There is a "sort of" solution I found.

There's a "legendary" perk that lets you auto open locked things and terminals. Doesn't help with reading, but it does solve the need to read the terminals, most of the time...

It's the auto zoom that bugs out. Off memory a workaround is to crouch or stand, whichever you aren't doing, before interacting with the terminal.

Another is get out of power armour if in it.

I'm getting to old to remember all the bugs and workarounds in this game...

No luck yet. Tried all the above. Bummer. Butt atleast if I put 2nd pair reading glasses over usual ones, I can lean in to screen & barely make out what's there.
