depends on your build.

There is a lot of good builds that dont use PA and the buff it gives does not help all builds. STR is not always need. Carry weight can be fixed with a backpack.

So yeah there is a lot of reasons not to use power armor but they all revolve around your build and what your trying to do with it.

There is also the repair costs for PA which are much higher then just armor. And to really get the most of the PA you need a few perks for it.

Most annoying part of Power Armor is managing Fusion Cores and that's not really a problem anymore.

Yeah if you get your hands on the core recharging camp item you will never run out again.

I use PA all the time but that is just how I built my heavy weapon build.

Im using mainly sledge and not sure what other builds around power armor but i think ill stick with it. Fusion cores don't seem that big an issue. Thanks for responding

The two builds I woffle between is a heavy weapon build or a melee build. With HW there is a couple of perks that just make it better while in PA. For Melee Pain Train will keep you laughing for hours.

I use PA for certain events and expeditions, all the rest of the time I'm running around in my SS Armor with a cool outfit on.

Heavy Weapons is my preferred PA Build. Recently got all I needed to switch over to the Gauss Minigun. You can stack Heavy Weapons, Explosive and Science Perks.. It's extremely satisfying if very involved to keep enough ammo around. I am looking forward to trying out the Incinerator once I get all the mods..

the bloodied vats build is probably the strongest in the game without PA and a full set of unyielding legendary armour

The aggravation of getting all those parts is very time and resource intensive. But it is the cheesiest OP build.

Power armor is actually for noobs in this game, if you actually build your character intelligently and optimized for soloing everything you will literally never need to use power armor.
This is of course unless you are a heavy weapons build, in which this is the only case where you should wear PA.

PA has the best Rad resistance in armor.. so there's that. PA Melee builds are also legit with Pain Train and Melee perk cards.

Actually incorrect, the Chinese Stealth armor has the best RAD Resistance in the game and the added bonus of making you invisible so the game difficulty becomes completely trivial.

At the cost of having almost zero armor.
