The controls and keybinds are god-awful, wtf?

ESC doesnt bring up menu?
I can't "sheathe" my weapon??
I can't hold shift to sprint, its a forced-toggle???
I can't use scroll too zoom in and out between 1st/3rd person camera????

What a terrible first impression. I've literally just started the game and I hate it already.

Was this originally made for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nintento or something? How is it possible that Fallout 4 controls where perfectly fine on pc and it's absolute garbage cancer-tier in fo76?

It was made for cross-platform play. Works fine on keyboard/mouse but takes getting use to.

It's actually better than the elder scrolls online ui but that's not saying much.

1. Yeah ESC brings up the Map and then you get into the Menu, nothing bad about it.
2. Hold R
3. ?? I hold shift to sprint and its not a toggle?
4. Well yeah that one is wierd to put the favorite menu on the scrollwheel.

Controls are weird coming from FO4 or NV since some of the buttons have different keybinds but it's practically the FO4 engine so any bias about movement mechanics are the same. So much so that many of the bugs were preserved from fallout 4 to 76.

On pc, I tried for the longest time to use the left shift key to run, until a windows prompt came up and asked if i wanted to change to another key, and yes i did... I changed the key bind to right shift and has worked ever since... go figure. In settings, it would not allow me to do it for some reason.

this sounds like they didnt add a keybind option for Y and Z since 5 years now (I'm currently downloading it again).

pretty much this, but try hitting V to go in and out of 3rd person, I think this is how it has been in every fallout game I've played.

Don't know how you playing but everything seems to work fine on my end.
ESC for the map then Z for settings, easy right?
Sheathe your weapon works fine for me (depends on what key you have bound to it).
Hold shift to sprint work also fine.
Scroll to zoom, i use the V key.

In short? Don't see any problems here to be honest.

Sheathe works, zoom works but its not with scroll (dynamic zoom) its just two states with V.

However, hold instead of toggle sprint does NOT work. And after searching around on the topic, it appears there is no such thing in the game. So anyone claiming that they have hold shift to sprint instead of toggle is most likely lying.

They are. You get used to it. Then curse other games when they do the same thing to more sensible keys.
