Exit and restart for new server?
I'm one of the new players as of last night. $8 on steam I just couldn't pass it up.
Ran into what I'm guessing was also a new player right after I left the vault.
Spent a few minutes playing with buttons ans such, getting the feel of things and the whole time I was hearing a lot of shooting and such.
Didn't think much of it until I started wandering around and was finding a lot of dead ghouls and a bunch of dead NPC settlers on my way to the first location.

I did see the new guy several times just shooting and hacking his way through everything that moved, As such, there wasn't anything for me to do or any NPCs to interact with for a while.
I didn't really have too much time to mess with the game anyway so I just closed out for the night.

My question tho is if I run into that again, I'm guessing I would just exit and reload and hopefully get a different server where everyone and everything isn't dead before I get there?

Yes, just "server hop". Most of the time you will end up on a different server the first time you hop. Sometimes though you will end up back on the same server you were just on. Just server hop again.

On Public servers you always take a chance that someone already killed what you're looking for or come across. When that happens it takes about 15+ minutes for those enemies to respawn where you will get a chance to kill them.

Thanks. I was only a minute or so behind the guy by the time I started walking around so that would explain the lack of any loot I guess lol

You're welcome.

None of the NPC are essential to your progress. The story content is a bowl of spaghetti these days. Just hack and slay whatever moves, or try and find the story content to follow. Either path leads to the same place ultimately. Boredom and disappointment.

This is bad advice. Do the Main storyline quests; they'll open up a lot of content.

Why do you have to slam the game on every forum thread you post on. You used to do the same thing on the Fallout 4 forum. How bout you let the new players decide for themselves if the game is good or not.

We always get that when we have a bunch of new players come in-Shoot-kill everything, Yep nothing like saving the world by killing everything in it even before you know who or what it is. MODUS LOVES YOU.

I will be honest I have been playing it on and off for a few years now but just recently the game is great, it really caught my attention this time, that Cultist Moth-Man event was really really cool and atmospheric.

But yea seems like a free event or sale, lots new people playing and all gunning to level up and kill anything that moves.

Lol, I'm about the opposite on killing everything that moves. I'm not even thinking about leveling as fast as possible. I'm wanting to take my time and just wander and see what's what :steamhappy:
